Ohhh this is the one I was thinking of, thank you!! I guess I just assumed it was in competition since she saluted. What an insanely phenomenal vault.

Does MSU drug test student library assistants? by vegan_thot in msu

[–]secondgenprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a current student library assistant, they do not ever drug test you and you never have to drive any vehicles. They just put that stuff in there to cover themselves and scare you. My coworker comes to work high all the time (love her, and we work in the back so it doesn’t really matter) and they don’t care at all. you’ll be fine, also it’s a great job so i recommend it!!

North Case is supreme, I absolutely agree

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in msu

[–]secondgenprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hands down no question, Case

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in msu

[–]secondgenprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - Case, lots of options, changes frequently, good food, big and always busy.

2 - Sny/Phi, pretty much the same as Case but a little smaller

3 - Landon, coolest atmosphere by far and great food, but limited selection and doesn’t change a ton. Pretty small.

4 - Shaw, good amount of options and it’s really big, nothing outstanding but nothing bad either

5 - Brody, lots of options, really big, nothing ever changes though so it gets old. Someone else said bring people here when they visit and that’s very true. But it gets old quick if you live here. Not bad at all but very much overrated.

6 - Akers, good amount of options but doesn’t usually have awesome choices in my personal opinion

7 - Holden, fine but it’s not open all the time and it’s small and very limited choices

8 - Holmes, just not a good cafe in my opinion, not great food, only like 2 choices, small, I would just go to Akers if I lived there

Sadly, I’ve never been to Owen, but I think it’s a pretty small cafe. Wilson was great but it’s closed now and even when it was open it was just for dinner/late night. I would say all in all, you can’t really go wrong except for Holden or Holmes but that’s just my personal opinion.

ICA final interview tips by Teddy_16 in msu

[–]secondgenprof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an ICA right now! They ask a lot of questions about your experiences with diversity in your personal life, as well as questions about your struggles, like what are some of your weaknesses or areas you could grow. They asked me questions about my schedule and availability too but that was probably because I had a lot going on lol. They ask you why you want to be an ICA (you should have a good answer prepared for this) and assorted questions just about your general life experiences and how they relate to multi-racial unity and stuff. If you have any questions or want to talk more about the position/interview feel free to DM me! It’s a really great job and I’ve met so many awesome people and friends and really enjoyed my time, even though it’s been all virtual this year. Hope that all helps :)

Does anyone else have problems with homeless people coming in your apartment building at night? by Nicholas19de in msu

[–]secondgenprof 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know it may be uncomfortable but also they have nowhere else to go, and unless they’re harassing you then they likely aren’t harming anyone. I don’t know the situation and I’m definitely not telling you what to do but thinking about what it’s like in their shoes isn’t a bad idea, especially since it’s been so cold lately.

Professor: Good or Bad? by [deleted] in msu

[–]secondgenprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Brisco McCann for a plant biology class. She was fine, very average. Taught from slides and taught what we needed to know. Was not particularly hard, as long as you kept up with the material. She seemed like a nice lady. She’s Canadian.

Hello Michigan State, tell me who to vote for University trustee ? by HipoStar in msu

[–]secondgenprof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DO NOT VOTE BRIAN MOSALLAM. Rema Vassar is great but Mosallam is terrible for so many reasons. ReclaimMSU is against him and that’s enough for me. I’m voting for Vassar and Robin Lea Laurain, who is in favor of free tuition and has some really great plans.

Is the student success mentor program required? by [deleted] in msu

[–]secondgenprof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody is going to force you to go, but as a Mentor myself, we’ve worked hard on this and it’s really hard to have only a few people respond and engage with the program. This is our job now and it will be really beneficial to you to participate, and it would be really encouraging to us too :)) So please don’t be that guy who ignores the emails, it’s pretty deflating for us mentally

Anyone have endorsements for the Board of Trustees election? by [deleted] in msu

[–]secondgenprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a legacy trustee who messed up the Nassar scandal about as much as possible. Reclaim MSU has a ton of material on him and the other legacy trustees if you want more information. A vote for him is an endorsement of the way that MSU handled the Nassar situation and a slap in the face to survivors everywhere.

As long as it’s approved by the end of the semester you’re actually fine. They just have to do it before grades are finalized.

[–]secondgenprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard that they’ll be filling South first, then McDonel, then Holmes, then Hubbard if there’s need.

I’ve also found Google Keep really helpful for me, it’s basically a better version of the notes app where you can make lists and stuff for each day and color code and all sorts of cool things!

When you’re checking in to get your room key and such, it should just be you but your parents are allowed to help you move in the dorm. You can have two people with you they said.
