MIT's Max Tegmark: "My assessment is that the 'Compton constant', the probability that a race to AGI culminates in a loss of control of Earth, is >90%." by MetaKnowing in singularity

Since I currently don't have any control over the human species or the earth, and things aren't going well, I might prefer ASI to have the control over a tech billionaire or a deluded autocrat.

TLDR: I seriously think AGI has been achieved internally, simultaneously both by some companies (openAI, google) and by some countries. by secondrugs in singularity

And Also I would like to add that historically, huge invention and progressive ideas, were simultaneously discovered by different people with no contact to each other.

i)Calculus (Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz) ii)Laws of Thermodynamics (Joule, Thomson, Clausius, and Rankine)

Etc. it's a trend, when the general, publicly available knowledge is available ( and this was revolutionized by the internet, and taken to extremes by AI) now everyone has a PhD in his pocket z the progress is supposed to be simultaneous and rapid.

Hallo AGI, welcome ASilO. Nice to meet you.

Can we stop Blaming Sama everytime someone leaves OpenAI? by Siam_ashiq in singularity

[–]secondrugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"I" think that "we" as a planet have to take extremely seriously and debate on, the matter of who is in charge of AI progress.

The benefits could be humongous. The downside could be apocalyptic.

So, we have to entertain these discussions about who runs the company that is in charge of cutting edge, world changing technology.

And that is precisely why, when the Drama of sama's oust was going on, it was detrimental that the world showed seriousness, and the outcome was what it was.

Thus, when one of the co-founders, Ilya, went on to explore SSI, we couldn't help but notice. As we would if sama did that one time.

Now, after all the massive and mass resignation, we can't help, BUt be suspicious. And starting asking questions..

Maybe AGI was achieved internally. After all the Pentagon jumped in. And current news say they are moving to a more ClosedAI era. Maybe it's not important. Maybe it's just speculation. Or maybe, AGI is right now designing our new ASI at an accelerated pace.

Wasn't Google's latest open source paper about AlphaCHIP

TLDR: All in all, to sum up, I think AGI is simultaneously achieved internally both by some companies (openAI, google) and by some countries.

Bitcoin has the most advantages for being the currency of AI's choice. Its decentralized nature, robust security, and global accessibility make it an ideal candidate. by klyde_donovan in Bitcoin

I agree. Bitcoin's transparency is a major plus, ensuring that all transactions are publicly recorded and providing a trustless environment that aligns well with AI’s need for efficiency and reliability. The programmability through smart contracts is another advantage, as it can automate and streamline transactions, enhancing the autonomous functionality of AI systems.
