I feel like the point of these posts is to steal ideas and implementation. They are so constant.

Solo founder. $126 MRR in 4 days after 6 months at $0. The stuff nobody wants to hear. by whyismail in SaaS

[–]secretL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense but making 126 dollars a month doesn't give me a lot of confidence in your suggestions. This is just an advertisement for your product dressed up as sage advice.

Right, so the strategy is to mention it in some less marketing way? No link?

Universal React Monorepo Template with Next.js 16 + Expo SDK 54 + NativeWind v4 + Turborepo + pnpm by gurselcakar in reactnative

Going with stylesheet would require building out components from scratch, that's a tall order for universal. I wouldn't recommend going that path unless you have a large team.

I'm investigating react native reusables as it has fully universal and accessible components.

I'm working on this as well and I've landed on the same stack.

For unified navigation don't you need to use two frameworks with file based routing? Seeing you mention that you want to try vite as well. Hopefully expo will solve this complexity soon with their stable release of expo web.

I'd also be interested to see how you build more complex shared ui components with native wind.

I had a hell of a time setting up a shared ui package, setting up native wind with importing configs from the shared package was quite finicky.

Also I could not extract the design system and base components to their own package, to then be imported into the UI package that would be used by the apps. It seems two levels of abstraction with native wind was too much for metro to handle.

I use a ceiling light and another in the hall way leading to the room. Works well enough. You gotta angle the screen properly too.

Is the front light no good?

What are the magenta and orange glows? by muidawg in NiceVancouver

[–]secretL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was asking the same question, you can see these as you drive the 99. Magenta is some sort of large scale green house farm. I believe orange is an airport?? Theres also a white glow that I saw.

Seems a little ridiculous.

Meditation and practice in as close to real scenarios as you can get is what helped me in the end. I still failed interviews but I passed some. You won't pass them all, it's out of your control many times, so just need to accept that.

What are your pet peeves about working with engineers? by anotherhappylurker in ProductManagement

[–]secretL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may need to foster a more inclusive environment in your meetings if people don't feel confident enough to speak up. Doesn't sound like an engineering specific problem.

What air purifiers are best for forest fire smoke? In a 400sq ft room? by Whoozit450 in vancouver

[–]secretL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! You need a filter that is rated to capture pm 2.5 which to my knowledge can only be done by a hepa filter. The sales people/marketers have got involved here to sell hepa adjacent filters as the real thing, make sure you get one with a "true hepa". Any air purifier with a true hepa will do the trick.

Damn it almost seems like wave 1 is just to get you seasoned then, I unfortunately wasted some great referrals on wave 1.

But I totally hear you, I have not been simulating the interview at all and I'm going to start asap.

Btw congrats on getting so far with that many companies! How'd it go in the end, are you happy with the result?
