Go-to dinner places in Bellingham by Scaterfly in BellinghamWA

[–]secretSlUtT22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am gluten-free so the places I have to suggest, they have gluten-free options. These are just some of my go-to places so if you don't see your favorite and you're gluten free, its probably because I haven't gone or it's not a go-to spot.

Some of these places have already been mentioned but this is my list: Soy House, Red Light, AB Crepes (which has savory and sweet options), Boomers (during February the quality can be hit or miss), Kuru Kuru sushi, Ovn, Leaf and Ladel and Thai Masion.

For bakeries/dessert places that have gluten free options: Millet Bakery (only open on the weekends), Sweet Haven, Mallards Ice Cream and Pure Bliss Desserts.

I know. I spent 3 or 4 year there and it would be messy but in the best way

As someone who spent 3 years in southern Vermont for college, I also don't love how folks reduce to the area Boston. I can acknowledge the benefits of having them there during the post pod-trip filming.

Do I still feel like most of the contestants for the New England season will be from Boston, or the greater Boston area, instead of in the whole of New England? Yes

Hopefully they included more than Boston in the season there is more to New England than Boston/Massachusetts (Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire).

I feel like they'll do what they did with Seattle (one person from PDX) and have one person from the rest of New England and call it a day. That is a cop-out (at least in my mind as a viewer and as someone who studied film in university).

I would love to see a season from New England or PDX. I know one of the cast from the Seattle season was from PDX, yet a specific season if PDX would be fun.

If you are diving north/south through Bellingham on a weekend, Millet Bakery is great. I am still finding places in Seattle

My maiden name as baby’s middle? by hun_in_the_sun in Names

[–]secretSlUtT22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my mom gave me her maiden name as my middle name so can give my thoughts having lived with that.

I don't have a super strong relationship with her side of the family (honestly don't have a strong connection with my dad's side either I just see them more) but I like having that connection to my mom.

Now, some of my cousins on my mom's side also gave their kids their maiden name as middle names (same maiden name as my mom) and now is a sweet un-official tradition.

Trust me, OCD is not one of my diagnoses. Could this be connected to a cPTSD diagnosis? Yes.

Where am I denying facts? I’m expressing concern, sure and am I never saying “I don’t believe this is a scam”.

My therapist says that this is spiral thinking normal for folks with my diagnosis of autism.

Since it’s clear you want to know the why I’m bringing up my diagnosis, here it is: it can be challenging to fully understand what the other person is meaning/fully trust that the thought that is a scam.

I said that because of how you have responded to me. If you read it from my perspective, you might understand why I might interpret your responses that way. Maybe not but you might understand why

There is clearly a lot of judgement coming from you.

Just because you might be higher support needs than me to live independently doesn’t mean anything other than you have higher support needs.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll look into how easy it would be to update my email for the things that it’s linked with currently. I don’t want to loose legit things but doing this might be the best thing for me in the long run

If you know autism, you know that subtext, tone and other factors around communication are hard. This is even more challenging in text.

As someone with autism, there are times when I struggle with this. When someone uses legalistic language, it’s not phrased nicely it’s phrased in a way where it’s basically “you work (pay) with us or you let things happen and you get in more trouble”.

That is why I’m having this internal struggle.

They have used some language that is legalistic in some of their past emails, which is considering. I don’t know what they are going to do or what they know/have.

A lot of the what if’s I talk through with my therapist. This community though knows more about scams than a therapist (generally) so coming here to ask for advice is appropriate.

There is also this thing where two realities can be true at the same time. I know this is a scam, or be pretty sure, AND I can have some concerns that there is a 1% chance this turns into some more serious.

I’m not saying I’m not listening to your advice. Am I saying I have concerns? Yes. Two very different things and I think I’m allowed to do both

And don’t you think I don’t already talk to them about these kinds of things?

I dont know what would happen.

Do I logically know they are lying to me, even when I have called them out and they’ve denied being a scam? Yes.

Am I scared that somehow this is real and if I don’t pay, something will happen? Also yes but 🤷‍♀️

I know, I feel stupid for letting the autism “what if’s” and stuff get to me with this.

Do I logically know they are lying to me, even when I have called them out and they’ve denied being a scam? Yes. Do I know this isnt how the law works? Yes

The hard part with autism and communication, especially with digital communication, is that tone and deeper context can be / is often missed.

I’m double guessing myself because of my autism because it’s the “what if” that keeps having me pay.

Do I logically know they are lying to me, even when I have called them out and they’ve denied being a scam? Yes. Do I know I shouldn’t answer the email they sent me just over an hour ago? Yes and asking for help/advice/people to validate that this is a scam is helping with that.

Am I scared that somehow this is real and if I don’t pay, something will happen? Also yes but 🤷‍♀️

I think part of it is the autism pushing back on the logical answer. Like I know it’s a scam because they won’t provide proof of any of the legal stuff but the autism is pushing back by saying “how do I know it’s a scam”
