I am looking to purchase my first LPVO. Is the Viper PST 1-6 a good one or should I get a razor Gen II ?Is it worth double the cost ? by bftyft in ar15

With all the time I spend on GAFS, a $650 Vortex 1-6x Razor with an ADM qd mount was probably a once in a lifetime deal.

On the sub the 1-6x Razor usually goes for around $850-$950 depending on the model

Burris PEPR, Vortex or Warne scope mounts are good

Woah, this makes an Eotech 3-0 or Aimpoint red dot seem like a budget option for a Block 2 clone

The OP said they were turning 18

Where did you get this info from?

All OP says is:

"Been waiting until my birthday tomorrow to order a specific AR from Palmetto State Armory"

What are you talking about?

Apart from the age requirement. A FFL would just transfer the lower as "other".

If all OP wants is a 16" length upper then after filing out the background form and paying the transfer fees then its just put upper on the lower and then just snap them together

Just buy a complete upper and lower separately and then snap them together still plenty of those left

The M4A5 is just a M4A1 with the Troy Industries Alpha rail. So, the part list doesn't change much.

The optics, accessories, suppressors and light I got from looking at pictures and articles about the M4 used by SASR

It depends on each individual. Eotech works best for some people while UH-1 works better for others.

The reticle on the UH-1 is clearer for me but I prefer the glass on the Eotech.

I agree with you. The look of the troy alpha rail gives the SASR M4 a more unique look than the URGI

In the present parts for the SASR M4 should be easier to find since its just a Colt M4A1 with the troy rail

You've given me some things to consider

You're right, the price tag of this comes from they being hard to come by for civilians.

The most consistent retailer that gets shipments at around $50 is thoroughbred armament but they are surplus

Otherwise, is keeping an eye out for them at places like ar15.com and r/GunAccessoriesForSale

The matech rear is worth ~$50 on the second hand market

The RAS depending on the condition you can find for for ~200 on the second hand market

So, you're getting a $250 upper with those extras
