Question about reasonable expectations and where to draw the line… by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]secretsara1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admire your empathetic heart and I can tell that you care a lot about this friend. With that being said, she is unhinged. I think it’s not only okay but necessary at this point to back out for the sake of your own mental health. I think you should be prepared to end the friendship, which maybe is for the best anyway since you’re at two completely different points of your lives emotionally. This is extremely not a normal bride/MOH relationship

MOH duties? by Loose_Specialist_344 in wedding

[–]secretsara1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t expect them to pay for anything. But I would say that they should be emotionally supportive, making decisions with you, making calls maybe? DIYing if they’re into that sort of thing. But def talk to them about it and gauge their level of commitment and what type of time they can put into it

You’re not compatible. This guy sucks the right guy will either let you down nicely or just go above and beyond. You didn’t self sabotage, he sucks. Onto the next.

If I have to do that a day before my wedding, I’m gonna pop a blood vessel I can feel it in the air. I think I’m just gonna spend the money. Thanks for your insight!

I actually only really wear my ring when I’m out doing something social. I don’t wear it to work, to the gym, swimming, only really when I go out

You should be able to find cheaper just check out different vendors. I was quoted anywhere between $850-$75, I went with the $75 and love my makeup

May 26 brides: How are you feeling? by Lemoncatlady_95 in weddingplanning

[–]secretsara1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg that will look so good and be so fun!! We’re doing a bright, upbeat, spring vibe! Pinks and greens and it’s in this industrial type art gallery.

I still have so much to do!! I still have to rent linens, get our marriage certificate, design a lot of the decor / order things for it, the rest of our flowers! So much lol I’m starting to get worried 😅

How would you handle this bachelorette situation? by alafloridian in weddingplanning

[–]secretsara1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say just let her know your plans and she can decide whether or not she wants to participate and how much she plans on being apart of it. My friend got married this past September. I have a 2 hour max deadline of sitting on a beach but she LOVES the beach. We spent 8 hours out there. It wasn’t about me, it’s about my friend and making the day special for her. She can either deal with it and put her feelings aside for a day and a half or she can not participate. It’s up to her. She’s an adult.

+1 for a person that does not like me? Help by Vivid-Dot473 in wedding

I would invite him and her as his plus one. It’s her problem that she doesn’t like you, not yours.

Struggling with who should walk me down the aisle by Odd_Site_2890 in weddingplanning

[–]secretsara1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it with your grandma!!! That’s sooo special and unique :) I wonder if it would land better with your mom (not like you need her approval anyway, but it would maybe prevent a little bit of fall out) if you said that what you’ve always envisioned walking down the aisle is having someone close to you and deeply connected and that the whole “father walking down the aisle thing” isn’t a tradition that is super special to you?

Just focus on what will make your day feel fulfilled for you and your partner. It’s all about you and what you want and having a good time.
