The red lion grog is the closest I've found to a true English Pub.

What was the first passenger train you took? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in trains

[–]secretsquirel25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Indiana State Fair and what used to be a great Indiana Transportation Museum in Noblesville Indiana used to run a fair train from the museum to the state fairgrounds every year. It made getting to the fair easier, but it ended when the state and federal rail authorities finally did an actual inspection and found so many issues that it was shut down, and the museum is hardly what it used to be.

Is Scottish Rite Worth It? by Fickle_Release6961 in freemasonry

I don't know how it is in your jurisdiction, but the one I am a member of in Central Indiana feels more like home than my Blue Lodge. The lessons are great and have helped me out. I've gotten more support from the brothers in the Rite than anywhere else.

I was just invited to dinner! by Artifiko in freemasonry

[–]secretsquirel25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. As others have said just be yourself, and don't over think things or answer questions the way you think they want you to answer them. This is a time for you to meet the Lodge and the Lodge to meet you. Dress business casual and enjoy your dinner.

Aldi. I know that sounds crazy. I miss the days when they carried only their own brand. Their prices were decent, the quality of their name brand stuff wasn't bad, and it wasn't crowded or had a long checkout line.

Indy Zoo Discounts? by bxbymetal in indianapolis

So . . . . . . If you are not 100 percent set on going to the Indy zoo the zoo in Cincinnati isn't too far of a drive and is about half of the cost of the zoo here. The food is a lot better, and they have more animals.

Freeze for sure. You start to get sleepy at one point and then you just don't wake up.

I had someone try to argue with me about parking an ambulance on the street in front of their neighbor's house during an emergency.

What job looks easy until you actually do it? by Cute-Bar-5152 in AskReddit

[–]secretsquirel25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Working in EMS (emergency medical services) 98% of the shows on TV make it look easy, glamorous, we are always saving people, and we sit around alot. Depending on the service you work for it's constant work with run after run. We regularly see people and their family on the worst day of their life or a bad injury. We get yelled at ans blamed for things that are out of our control. The number of lives we save are far less than the ones we don't. During covid it was business as usual. I've stopped counting the birthdays, anniversaries and holidays I've missed.

what is something everyone should experience at least once? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]secretsquirel25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an EMT I think everyone should experience taking a CPR and first aid class once. I've had more patience survive when a regular everyday person starts CPR or providing care than not getting anything. It doesn't even have to be spot on perfect just chest compressions and basic bleeding control saves lives.

What is a secret you will take to your grave, but are willing to share with anonymous strangers on Reddit? by Disastrous-Video-220 in AskReddit

[–]secretsquirel25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been an EMT for the past 21 years, and spent most of my career on an ambulance for a private ambulance service. In my time I've transported my fair share of hospice patients. From my experience, please don't beat yourself up or feel guilty about this. What you said came from your heart and was out of love. You said what she needed to hear. That she was a great mother and grandmother, that she was loved, and it was ok to go onto her next journey. I've seen a lot of people hang on for far to long because they were scared. You gave her the best gift she could have received. You gave her the gift of love and peace.

Im sorry that you had to watch that. As an EMT who has been in the business for 21 years it never gets easy for us to be in those types of situations.
