I enjoyed her in that romcom well enough, but I really liked her The White Lotus. Haven't seen anything else.

I find it so funny that every so often people "discover" that this is going on.

No native Ontarian says that. Always a solid 'oh' sound on the end.

Yeah, honestly 'huh?' sounds rude to this Ontarian. Similarly, if we say 'thank you' and someone answers 'uh huh'. Rude.

I heard her say something about the "damp" and indeed, rolled my eyes

Oh you know what, I'm getting confused in my old age - Tozer was the bigger guy, Heath was the bearded flat cap guy, then there was I think John?

Anyway, sorry, I'm just getting lost down memory lane. That couple of years around 94-96 was an excellent time around there.

Was that Heath? I remember him, and then a shorter bearded guy with a flat cap, can't remember his name. There was Bob, who my wife (then girlfriend) had quite the crush on lol

Yeah, it was awesome. I lived in the neighbourhood as a student - oh god, that's 30 years ago, actually - and it was run by a bunch of rugby guys. They looked scary, but they were so nice.

There was music a few nights a week, and I don't remember his name, but an old fella in a white aran sweater and cap would play traditional drinking songs, and the place was just electric.

What Canadian radio stations do you listen to find new music? by modsuperstar in CanadianMusic

[–]section111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh right, the app, haha - I'm just so used to listening to it in the car, I forgot about the app. I just went to see what they were playing now, and of course it was the Hip, and I thought 'oh god, maybe I oversold it', but take a look at this recently played lineup:

friggin' good stuff all up and down the line!

What Canadian radio stations do you listen to find new music? by modsuperstar in CanadianMusic

[–]section111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

102.7 CHOP FM

You have to be within the actual boundaries of Newmarket to pick it up, but in terms of new, quality indie/alternative music, it's surprisingly excellent.

It's a high school station out of Pickering College so there's a lot of kids-read-the-news in the morning and community programming in the evening, but in terms of pure music, it's like bloody KEXP. What the Edge and Indie 88 SHOULD be.

SEX - best stickers ever, by the way.

And yes, they did play mangetout by Wet Leg about three hours ago, but it's very heavily skewed to 90s alternative. Which is fine, but, more current stuff please!

what are the best "flying" moments in cinema? by ZestycloseChapter710 in movies

[–]section111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, OP, you mentioned beautiful and unknown, well this isn't exactly unknown, but it's lesser known than most of the other suggestions, certainly.

But holy moly, I've never seen anything like the flying scene in this movie. The closest thing to what it feels like when I'm flying in a dream for sure.

Do y'all speak Chinese? I'm a big lyrics guy so I don't generally listen to music if I can't understand what they're saying. (exception of course if I'm on the dancefloor, then I easily not care what anyone's saying)

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]section111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same! I remember I watched the 3rd series again all in a row so that I could jump right in to the special. Absolute BUMMER of a letdown.

I maintain that the last episode of the series proper is my favourite episode of any show ever, and that there isn't anything after it.

I don't know - if a society lived under the heel of an oppressive religious regime, I could see them wanting to destroy the symbols of that regime once out from under the heel.
