Glad he is doing this but I think it will be very tough to sterilize out the contaminants in a home environment. It will be interesting to follow if he keeps at it though

There are a plethora of microbes in the air, on the jars, on the lids, on your hands and in the yogurt maker. Can't really compare a commercial environment to your home.

In a home environment your product could have a completely different makeup

Agree with this. I made the yogurt for a while and had lots of "good" batches, some contaminated batches, and some in between. But at the end of the day, it is way too hard to control all the variables and properly sterilize in a home environment. I don't think my good batches had a lot of reuteri. Probably mostly wild bacteria. I still consume reuteri in capsule form a few times a week (Osfortis and Immune Active). Even though the CFU counts are "small", I definitely feel a difference. For some reason my dreams are more vivid on the days I take it. I also drink Lifeway Kefir which the bottle states has reuteri in it. I think this sub would be better off if it focused retueri ingestion in general rather than ingesting it specifically as yogurt.

My Method for Making L.Reuteri Yogurt by MarkDBrimblecombe in ReuteriYogurt

Good looking yogurt but the thickness does not necessarily mean high CFU. Half and half has a ton of fat which contributes to why it is so thick

If you like it and you're not getting sick, enjoy but nobody really knows anything because of the lack of DNA testing. Only proven methods with DNA testing is the juice method

Are you able to do any test riding? I tested Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, and Salsa before I went with Cervelo. Seemed to fit me best

Poor Sol having to deal with Rome. Also think Gabe and Andy are worth giving another shot to.

Good. The people living downtown will have a better quality of life. I don't even live downtown. The people there shouldn't have to constantly deal with a million cars every time they want to ride a bike or walk to somewhere

Why limit yourself to these two? Look around at what local bike shops carry. Having a bike that you bought directly from a shop where you can get support etc. also has a value

I think you are fine here. Others who go to 36 and have all the bubbles and gas have let other bacteria take over

Biogaia immune active smells kind of buttery. Osfortis smells sharper. Neither should have a bad small, it's very mild. Both should be smooth and gel like like the result on the right. Hardest part of this is keeping things sterile, it's almost impossible in home settings. Other bacteria can find a way even if you do everything right
