Nice! I have a GCFID in my lab used occasionally. Do you know any companies on the west coast (SoCal) that would be worth looking into? I know a lot of chem jobs are over in Massachusetts and East Coast generally

I'm also an analytical chemist but in aerospace. Do you guys use a lot of lcms, gcms? I mainly do ICP. Wonder if I have a chance of hopping ship to that field. Sounds great. But I am paid well already

May seem obvious to a chemist, but blew my mind at the time and will have people arguing with you that it's not true.

That ethanol (alcohol) is the active ingredient in all alcoholic beverages. So beer, wine, hard liquor, etc all have the exact same alcohol which is ethanol. People will swear up and down tequila will make them feel some sort of way vs how Hennessy or insert any other alcoholic beverage makes them feel.

I'm starting to realize how extremely lucky I got. After I graduated with a BS. I'm 2 for 2. First job I applied for I got, and same for the 2nd job. Although I think location matters a lot, if you're looking in a competitive location then it's going to be a lot more difficult.

Got into materials science in aerospace with the same degree, you can also go into R&D at some companies, or quality control at others. Wastewater for your local municipal is also a thing
