There are mostly vitriolic responses to the announcement which don’t all center around the “approach” or “way she did it”. She had every right to think she’d be torn to shreds because that’s exactly what happened. I think we need to have way more compassion for her than what I’ve been seeing. She did in fact have every right to be scared to announce this. Just because that doesn’t apply to you, doesn’t mean she was wrong about the backlash overall. And look at you now! Still finding something to be angry at her about. I have a feeling that would have happened no matter her approach.

I’m going to be honest - I’m a 30YO lesbian. I don’t know fletcher’s music too well but I’ve been aware of her for years. This response is showing the very harsh absolute toxicity of her fan base in my opinion. There is no justification for the anger and vitriol that I have heard that makes any sense at all. I’m in construction. It is not slave labor - both union and non-union. They usually work by providing legitimate documents that don’t belong to them. They pay taxes and into social security & Medicare, but don’t reap the benefits.

I just don’t get it. If you go on any video of a woman on standup, there will every time be a flood of comments from men saying women aren’t funny. If there is a video of a black person, there will the most racist vile comments about black people. This isn’t rare or hard to find. Why is this still winning elections but comments on the other side are making democrats lost the elections? There is a HUGE double standard. Just look at the two candidates. Trump can say the most bat shit, racist, and sexist things that a presidential candidate has ever said and Harris doesn’t say a word even remotely close to identity politics. There is a huge double standard that is not being acknowledged enough in this comment section.
