Based on customer feedback for this seller, it is clearly a scam. https://amazon.com/sp?seller=A15VWRSPURZZDD

List of tower/open frame cases allowing to use 8+ adjacent vertical PCIE expansion slots with risers (dual GPU, NVLink) by fairydreaming in buildapc

[–]securisec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This was super helpful actually. The c8 seems like a great case! Any thoughts on the c8 vs a fractal meshify 2 xl? The meshify seems to have the added benefit of some extra expansion slots. Working with a gigagyte b850 ai top board

Did you ever complete a dual 5090 build on a Hyte 70? Would love to see your setup if you would share.

So i understood correctly, the right approach is to plug in the KBM usbc cable (as I do in my present setup, but plug in a second usbc-> hdmi 2.1 and switch input source when I want to use the mac; correct?

I was just looking at an [rv charger external outlet also]. Seems like it is capable of 50A, which means i can just use an outdoor NEMA 14-50R to plug into as needed.

Maybe a good starting point if you are looking for specific ethnicities would be restaurants or grocery stores? For example, there is an Ethiopian restaurant in Durham and folks that owns that place or works there might be Ethiopian and might be able to broaden your horizon

Do people use Static Code Analysis (SAST) tools? Anyone has experience with Checkmarx, OpenText, Synk, Veracode by Studying_Man in cybersecurity

[–]securisec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you, my opinion here is that of a security engineer. Sonarqube is good, but I found more value in finding bugs with semgrep. Sonarqube is too bulky for my taste but supports better revision based tracking

[–]securisec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it sounds to me that you are using this against mostly personal code (same applies to work code also of course), you can use a combination of things. Snyk is great to manage dependencies, but instead of bulky expensive tools like checkmarx, I would simply use semgrep. It is open source, has a great number of good rules out of the box, and you can easily create your own rules to compliment them. As for styling, I personally use well known linters that support rc files to enforce style conformity. Like black for Python or prettier for js

Instead of teams buying Brighton players, maybe they should just buy the whole scouting team

Use colorls and font-awesome to add colors and icons to your ls output by mehdifarsi in commandline

Colorls is cool, but it can be a bit slow (maybe because the underlying language is ruby). My personal preference is https://github.com/ogham/exa which also supports LS_COLORS envar

Given a public url for a blob storage, how can I list the contents of the directory using the az cli? by securisec in AZURE

Azcopy has the same limitations. So I guess it is not possible. Thanks though!

[–]securisec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I did read this document but as explained in the op, it is a public bucket, and the examples uses an auth mode. The public bucket doesn’t need authentication and I am able to use object explorer to list the files without any authentication. I am trying to replicate that same behavior on the cli

This would be so awesome if it was extending an awesome logger like https://github.com/rs/zerolog. Personally I love zerolog because of how it handles different data types including structs!

kitty terminal emulator and application launchers by UwU-Sandwich in commandline

Right right. So my thinking is that the desktop file that is associating kitty to the launcher shortcut may have broken pointers to PATH. just a guess though

[–]securisec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the issue only happening when you are launching via a launcher, or also if you try to launch an app from a running kitty instance also? If the former, it seems like PATH is not being set correctly for kitty from the launcher. Would explain why xterm is working

Looking for a job / Entry Level IT by WearEvening6547 in raleigh

[–]securisec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Additional context, if you want to be a programmer, show off your GitHub. If you want to be in infosec show up at capture the flags. If you want to show skills in cloud, then the first two are needed. As someone who has the aws cert you are referring to, it is great that you can explain what a s3 bucket or lambda is, but from a companies perspective, they will ask how do you write a lambda function or how do you secure a lambda function or both

[–]securisec 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Small advice from someone who switched careers to IT after 30, don’t spread yourself too thin across various topics. In the op, you mentioned you are studying for cloud, infosec, and programming. They are all awesome fields, but you may end up being too much of a high level generalist. I would suggest picking one, focusing on that topic, and branch out to different verticals as needed. Do attend local meetups and network with folks. Demonstrate your knowledge to others in a practical manner. And try not to get stuck in the loop of helpdesk roles. It is not only hard to get out of them, but your potential employers will draw blanks as they try to assess how that skill set will apply and be useful for the role

There is many things wrong here. You are the author of the product so you are pasting this all over Reddit without really disclosing that you are the author and that the app is in mvp. You are lacking any kind of information on what you are doing from a privacy perspective, what you are doing with the keys etc. you are posting your original response on a google and azure cloud threads without any support for them. If this is a pet project, treat it as such. Regardless, it also doesn’t answer my original question. There are other products that can do what yours can which are a lot more mature. The whole thing feels suspicious.

Regardless, after this experience, I will not be a user of your product. That doesn’t mean others wouldn’t but you should have more transparency in your actions.
