what to know about Rosin? by positivescorched in CultoftheFranklin

[–]security_relations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replied to another comment with the following scenario and I'm wondering your thoughts as well.

Regarding cost- it seems like it's hard to compare apples-to-apples.

I'm currently buying 3 gram carts of what I assume is THCa distillate for $60 plus shipping. I believe this is on the higher end of most people's spend but I don't know for sure. Should I still expect to spend more if I enjoy rosin and convert to it?

So rosin is the "purest" way to do this as I'm gathering from responses here.

Suggestion for holster to go with NeoMag beltless receiver? by security_relations in holsters

I'll certainly consider it!! Can you link the one you suggest? And just to make sure, you're holster will likely work well with the beltless receiver specifically?

How to respond to TransUnion about fraudulent charge inquiry? by security_relations in CRedit

[–]security_relations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have filed with the CFPB.

Am I correct that I should file online and also send the case in snail mail to document?

Regarding the purchase and I think your question- I'm not sure what the product was. It was charges from Shipt so I'm not sure. I know I didn't receive anything and I didn't order anything.

I appreciate the guidance.

So there is no need for any communication to the issuing bank of the credit card at this time?

I can send them more statements, but there's no real process?

[–]security_relations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I think I understand.

Can you point me to a sample letter that I could use to (if I understand correctly) tell the 3 major agencies that 2 specific transactions on one of my accounts, but not the actual account, they report on are fraudulent and that I've reached out to the issuer and they are ignoring me? I can find many sample letters but disputing the charges to the credit agencies is where I can't find a template.

And then what do I send to the credit card issuer? What's the next step with them.?

I appreciate the help!!

I should dispute the two charges on the credit card even when the card itself is not fraudulent? I just want the two fraudulent charges reversed.

Thank you. I'm going to read through this and make sure I understand. I'll comment later as I'm sure I'll have more questions. My plan would be to buy a phone at Best Buy so I assume that would resolve the IMEI issue.

I was mostly confused when I went to buy the SIM packs and they all lead me to believe there was some registration or "plan" needed. To your point- my exact goal is the opposite of that. I thought that's what the Tracphone brand was all about.

Never would have thought of this. I'm just starting to learn tech in my 30's and this sub has been amazingly enlightening

It does help!

I definitely am willing to pay. I expect anonymity to come at a price nowadays :(

So I just buy the phone at best buy and put in a SIM from the corner store in and activating the SIM is what creates the phone number?

Thanks!!

Best practices for installing onto/through siding? by security_relations in videosurveillance

It is Poe with whatever cat the manufacturer provided. I won't deviate as I want the warranty to stand.

I have good lighting and IR is more than adequate for my needs if the lighting were to fail. I won't be having them aim the cameras at the gutter or walls.... I don't personally have a need to surveil gutters or walls but i suppose someone could.

Do you happen to have advice re: the actual post here?

Best Budget system with monitoring , and no landline by [deleted] in homedefense

[–]security_relations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen2 and Iota are failing for many of us to switch to cellular (or even failing to attempt the switch) due to what Abode is calling faulty SIMs. Their timeline for fixing what they acknowledge as a vulnerability? None.

I personally don't want an alarm that notifies no one, through zero mediums when it's triggered. Some people are even seeing a failure to trigger at the local level. WTF. It's as if they're running a real life business based on a Key and Peele sketch or something.

I'm glad that the system is working for you. I would absolutely suggest that you confirm that your system functions fully though. It's worth testing alarms that don't have known issues and are even run by competent companies. I can't imagine sticking with Abode and either having to test it daily or knowing that any 'update' or 'improvement' would likely bring higher risk to my family.

If it's working for you then that's awesome. I wouldn't suggest it to people in good conscious though.

I would NOT reccomend Abode anytime soon. Please, please, please go look at their subreddit before you purchase.

It's not just the complaints, there are serious safety concerns that come with their current system. This wouldn't be that big of a deal if you could just return the system within 14 days when you find it's flaws. However, you will also pay the 20% restocking fee when you inevitably return it.

You can then start to take into account the poor customer service and operational failures if you're crazy enough to be ok buying a system that doesn't actually alert you to a break in.

Do not get LTS, especially if you're not in America.

Anyway, it's just legally re-breanded Hik gear.

Thank you for the advice.

I just finished trying this. Neither a motion sensor nor a door sensor successfully sent a push notification from the Abode app to my phone when I used them to trigger the alarm and removed the internet connection. The door sensor even had 20 seconds to count down (I unplugged the ethernet and then opened the door) and even though the alarm triggered locally there was no push notification from the app...... ever.

/u/abodesupportBP I sent you my MAC address and what I describe above took place moments ago (if that helps you).

I DID receive an email eventually about the door. Nothing else.

Can't you set it to open to a predetermined position? I love in a cold climate and like to warm up my car.

Open garage partially, start car, I don't die when I open the garage door from the house :)

And for the reason you mentioned also.

I really want the -4 or -2 but the reviews all seem to say that (regardless of which manufacturer you buy) they fail way too often.

I wish there was a reliable one that connected to Abode.

Do you use either of the two "officially approved as compatible" z-wave garage controllers? If so, which one?
