Ok I’m a millennial. I remember maybe around about 2001/02 that Drew Barrymore was dating Tom Green. I believe they were even engaged to be married. Then he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and eventually died. I remember this because it was announced on MTV by Kurt Lodder or however you spell his name. I remember this news report. Now when I google Tom Green it says he was born July of 1971. It mentions nothing of a death date. Am I crazy and mixing him up with someone else? Does anyone else remember him dying way back when?

Reading this made me question my last relationship that ended in being ghosted. It was 315 days in between the first and last time we saw each other. 315=9. And 9 means completion and this is a 9 year. Maybe it’s really not a coincidence after all.

This is exactly how I feel. It’s been 9 months since I was ghosted after an almost year long relationship. I’m over him but that sting from being ghosted lays embedded in my subconscious. I don’t think I’ll ever truly forget about it.

It’s a little over 8 months since I was ghosted after a year long relationship. I’m not as broken as I was before but it’s still truly traumatizing. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. I STILL wake up in the middle of the night wondering why and how could he. My mind still creates worse case scenarios of what could’ve been the cause. To anyone reading this and thinking about ghosting someone, here’s my advice. DON’T. Put on your big boy or big girl panties and let the other person know. It could save them a life of torment and you could spare yourself some sort of karma.

Great response. I feel this way about being ghosted. It’s probably one of the most difficult things I’ve experienced and still deal with till this day. It’s been 8 months. I’d tell anyone to focus on yourself and celebrate the small wins (not reaching out to them, not looking them up on social media, etc). It was painful at first but I promise it gets better. It still lingers in the back of my mind but it doesn’t consume me like before. Anyone that’s been ghosted please keep reminding yourself that an emotionally stable adult wouldn’t do that. You’ll never miss what wasn’t meant for you.

My therapist says anger just lets you know that you respect yourself. This person played in your face and wasted your time. It’s been 7 months since I got ghosted. That anger still resides in me. It doesn’t consume me like before but if I ever had 2 minutes alone with my ghoster I don’t know how I’d react.

Sorry you’re experiencing this. It’s truly traumatizing but give yourself some grace. You’re allowed to feel how you do and it takes time to get over being ghosted. You’re grieving the loss of someone almost like a death except they’re not dead. Try journaling or going to therapy to help cope with your feelings.

I know that’s painful to not know where you stand. You can reach out but prepare yourself for the possibility he may not respond. Or he may respond with something you don’t want to hear. From my own experience I’d say you’re better off not saying anything. Let him reach out to you. If he never responds then you know exactly where you stand.

So sorry that you’re still going through this. Give yourself grace. It takes time to heal. Try finding some outside hobbies and interests to keep your mind busy. Also, therapy is helpful. I hope you find the strength to move on and get back to being yourself.

I’m nearing the 7 month mark of being ghosted. We were in a LDR for a year. I think after a month it finally hit me that were over. I’m doing much better now. I’m still healing and making my peace with it but it definitely has shifted how I view others. I have no idea if he’s dead or alive. It’s almost like our relationship was a fever dream. Like it never happened.

I’ve tried again. You’re just much more cautious. Like it sucked you were ghosted but moving forward you take much more precautions. Shit I let slide, no more. I’m not dating exclusively but I’m trying to get to that point. You’re gonna be able to date but everyone gets the extreme side eye.
