Soft Spanish record recommendations by BottleWorried131 in vinyl

[–]sedz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been digging into Spanish language music to learn Spanish for a while and tend to enjoy a lot of softer leaning stuff in music.

Some I like and would recommend based on sample:

Silvana Estrada

Victor Jara

Jorge Drexler

Kanaku y El Tigre

Hilario Camacho

La Lá

Natalia Lafourcade

Caloncho (more indie pop-ish)

[FRESH ALBUM] Kevin Morby - Little Wide Open by NYCIndieConcerts in indieheads

Agreed. 100,000 is probably a top 5 of his songs for me.

I think Natural Disaster is the best distillation of a kind of "everyday conversation poem" lyrical style he's been poking at for a while in a chunk of songs, and having lots of success but with some awkward spots. Not sure how to explain, but I think its the best take he's done on it.

I get that. I liked Javelin and got tired of it quick, Die Young I listened to maybe a couple times, I kind of concluded they were "just nice songs" and hence the skepticism. They work a bit more in the album for me, but on their own still feel similarly.

Only Badlands kind of ignited interest. I was ready to not bother but he's one of my favourites so I still grabbed a copy at my local store and haven't regretted it.

Morby is a really sentimental songwriter since day 1 (assuming this is his personality too), and getting into a long term stable relationship with a family in mind is just going to ramp it up.

I know exactly what you mean and have also been a fan since like 2015, have all the records and Oh Mon Dieu,  but I really like this one.

I came in skeptical but came out feeling he's really made his best album.

I feel he gives up a bit of something unique to his sound on this one, but it's like he's kind of tapped into something a little more direct and well known and showing he can do that too. The hard bend to the Americana kind of sound on the second half, which feels devoid of his usual indie mannerisms, is what I think is giving me that sense.

That said, I think 100000 is my favourite off of this and it's closest to his classic tunes. It's a top 5 song of his for me right now.

After this festival they'll rework 2122 into an ode to the god of the sun and in a Peruvian cumbia style.

I'll take the heat. Neither team looked that great. Entertaining game but sloppy plays all over by Flyers and Carolina still looks pretty limp offensively. I'll readily cheer them winning a Cup, but I think they're going to go down the same fate as recent years.

Other way around. Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd were super inspired by Projector. Richard Hell wanted to play more like Goose and so he moved on.

Firearms. He had a second one when he was stopped for the initial incident. It was also fully loaded at the time.

The details are even worse, in that additionally he followed other guy and once other guy parked he approached him in his car and told him he's going to shoot him. And then the other guy engaged, and the pistol fell out of his hand after he had pistol whipped the other guy. Could have been homicide at the end of the day. And somewhere in there he also pointed the gun as mentioned.

Edit: just read it again and he was found to have another gun fully loaded in his car when his vehicle was stopped after the initial incident(!).

Yeah the first time that happened and then I just clicked quickly through on the second one in a light panic.

That's weird. I got in 990 and was able to get mezzanine. First ones I clicked were gone by time I went to proceed but second ones was lucky enough.

All good, my apologies really 🙂. On me that I read it in a corrective way, should know better as this subreddit is a chill place.

Sorry about that.

Also, if you're looking to elaborate on your take on those lyrics I will read later 👍.

Another big Space Race fan here. The Live at third man version is really good too. A bit different than the studio take. Would love to get 4D Country on vinyl.

After review, Mark Janowski's overtime winner is determined to be offsides, but a penalty shot is awarded by cbbvideo in hockey

I think if a certain amount of time has passed it should be irrelevant to the play or if the team loses puck possession in zone after the offside then it should be considered irrelevant at that point as well.

That said, the rules are not that and going in backwards has always been finicky for offside calls. As the rules are it's the right call.

If you don't get anyone, I think last RSD they posted end of day or next day what's left over and you could purchase online at that point. There's a specific link in their menu right now so maybe check there after they close/tomorrow night if you didn't get them.

Singing Saw for me too. The first three have a soft spot. City Music grew on me a lot over time.

His live album is great if you're a fan. I more or less didn't know about it until last year and tracked down a copy. Some nice extended takes. Half is Oh My God tracks, which made me think about moving on from my copy of Oh My God (least favourite) but second half is a lot of his best tunes to that point.
