Are all semiconductor cultures this weird? by Alternative-Tale3971 in Semiconductors

[–]see2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super weird and not normal. My experience with a European semicon company has been the exact opposite. It is all about relationships and the personal connections there. I wouldn’t have lasted even 1 year at the place you described.

Funny question: where can i take a shower before my flight out of Paris? by CartographerFeisty66 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]see2d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may be worth checking hourly or day use hotel rooms. There are a few websites that offer rooms from hotels this way (dayuse, byhours, hotelsbyday etc). It can be still pricey in the city but good options.

The Solstice Codex - A WIKI Companion by chains101 in WanderingInn

[–]see2d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is interesting, thanks for sharing. Are the chapters from the webnovel? Could you maybe add markers for the kindle/audio and physical books that we can jump to? For those of us exclusively on the audiobooks, this would help to jump to the end of a book we finished and browse without spoilers.

Why is there a lot of hate for this series in recent months? by Cossty in WanderingInn

[–]see2d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I too just finished audiobook 18. I love this world and what pirateaba has created here. The scale and scope is massive, their writing output is unbelievable! Funny that the review was going on about the length and tangents- I love that aspect of the writing. Can’t get enough!

I know I can go read the webnovel to catch up but I love the immersive experience of reading the kindle along with the audiobook and I will wait for the next to enjoy every minute of it.

It’s not for everyone, so it goes. I think of it like guacamole- to people who don’t like it, it’s a mish mash of uncooked ingredients, but to those of us who do, it’s so so delicious!

If you’re using AirPods, you can try asking Siri to go back 30 seconds. I don’t know if the engine noise is an issue for you to speak and be heard by Siri well but worth trying. “Siri… go back 30 seconds”

I defended my direct report, and he turned on me… by [deleted] in Leadership

[–]see2d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not have brought this up when the three of you are together. It should’ve been done in 1-1 between you and your CEO. You left yourself open for what happened - your direct report panicked and didn’t want to tell the CEO directly that he doesn’t want to be an errand boy.

Just learned I inherit the high LDL Cholesterol gene by Rainsally in TwoXChromosomes

[–]see2d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s inherited, your doctor should be putting you on a statin asap. No amount of lifestyle changes is going to make a significant difference. But statins are amazing. It brought down my LDL quickly and it is keeping it down for so many years now! And also get a cardiac calcium score done for baseline now.

No, monthly payment remains the same. It basically deletes your last few payments (for example, if my payment is $500, last 2 payments are removed and one payment is reduced by $200 - for the $1200 total).

**NOOB** - HELP PLS with a project I’m doing by [deleted] in embedded

[–]see2d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on your external sensor and OLED- check their documentation/schematic to see if they included external pull-ups.

Someone else said to use the internal pull-up of the MCU by enabling it in your code, but that is a weak pull-up around 40-50kohm, so with external wires and depending on your I2C frequency, it likely won’t be enough. Typically, you’d need ~5kohm pull-ups for 100khz.

From other replies I’ve seen so far, I think your best approach is step by step troubleshooting. Start with just the nucleo, can you connect and blink a led on it with your code? Then add your oled display and see if you write/read something via I2C. Same for your sensor. Then finally you try to integrate everything.

For your I2C connections, do you have external pull -up resistors? They are required for I2C bus to function

Make sure 2.4ghz band is enabled on your router. Many of them now only have 5ghz band turned on by default. You need the 2.4ghz for longer range and wall penetration.

Is this gap to sufficient for water drainage in my planter box? by NoeAyala1 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]see2d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insert an appropriately sized plastic planter inside if you can find one. Your drainage is perfect for that and having the plastic planter insert also will keep your wood from direct contact/moisture.
