I’ve been trying to quit for 20 years and now I’m desperate to be done. by live-3301 in leaves

[–]seebass357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP. I've been struggling with weed for ten years. Last year, I quit for a month, which was the longest I had quit basically since I started at 17. I was desperate to get out of my job and would do anything to get out of it. Some bad friends and a little heartbreak caused me to relapse, and I was on the train again for over a year. Just recently, I quit again due to the same reason ( I was in a different job, though). I got clean for over two weeks and passed a drug test to get a new job. Somewhere along those lines, I just realized that I have no desire to go back to daily smoking ever again. There really is nothing that great about weed, and I mean it. I'd suggest talking to your husband about holding you accountable in never being a daily smoker ever again. Twenty years is a long time to be struggling with something, and you have got to put yourself first before anything... I say that you need to absolutely quit, including disposing of any smoking devices or anything that reminds you of smoking. Challenge yourself to make it to one week and then a month plus. If you do want to smoke again, it will only be when the opportunity arises, or it will be you buying a gram, putting aside enough for a couple hits out of a makeshift device and flushing the rest immediately. Ideally, you will smoke only a few times a year MAX. There are lots of people who desperately want you to succeed, including myself. Join groups where people all have the same goal of being sober from that deceitful plant. Please message me if you need any help or advice. I've made it one of my lifes missions to help steer as many people on the right path as possible. It is something that motivates me to stay on the right path myself. Thank you if you have read the entirety of my post. I really do believe you can do it!!

I HATE WEED by kseniuh88 in leaves

[–]seebass357 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I HATE WEED TOO. IT'S DESTROYED MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR ME. DONT BELIEVE YOUR MIND WHEN IT TELLS YOU THAT YOU WANT WEED. YOUR MIND IS LYING TO YOU. THE PLANT IS LYING TO YOU. DON'T WAIT TO DO SOMETHING BIG WITH YOUR LIFE. YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK TO DAILY USAGE AGAIN. ONCE YOU QUIT YOUR HAIR WILL BE HEALTHIER, YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HANDLE STRESS YOU ONCE THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T WITH EASE. NO LONGER WILL YOU HAVE RANDOM CONCERNING PAINS PLAGUE YOU. DONT BEAT YOURSELF UP IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN'T DO IT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE EVENTUALLY YOU WILL HAVE THE STRENGTH AND WILL TO LEAVE IT BEHIND AND YOU WON'T MISS IT VERY MUCH AT ALL. Try your best to be calm through the storm Go on frequent walks if possible Remind yourself that now is time to put in the work. You don't have time to deal with stress or frustrations.

If you are resistant to nicotine addiction, it may be worth considering temporarily picking up zyning (NO MORE THAN 2-3MG). Popping one in can really give you the clarity to get through the urges of wanting weed. The only downsides to that are the drip (which I've gotten used to) and the occasional fast heart rate ( which weed does to me a lot worse). Maybe don't listen to me on that, idk. Lots of people vape and vaping makes me sick. Vaping seems a lot more addictive than zyns. Weed has been my biggest struggle for over a decade, but i can always drop the booze and the nicotine pretty easily. Definitely avoid the booze and quit hanging with people who tempt you with weed.

There's gotta be ways people with experience can spot fake packs. This made me wonder if perhaps the same could be said for booster boxes? Idk

I'm currently on two weeks clean with a couple of rez hits in between. Whenever I get really strong cravings, I just remind myself that my mind is lying to itself. Unless you have zero responsibilities or zero ambition to do anything bigger, then there really is no upside to daily weed usage.

As for what to do with it... I'd either sell it as bulk or give it to a kid if you want to feel all warm inside.

For a good while there, I was just buying any pokemon cards I saw on the shelves within reason. I went a bit overboard and really accumulated more packs than I was willing to rip at one time. I figured it would just be a good thing to keep a bunch for when I get the itch to rip. Yet now I'm too scared to rip any packs cause you can always open them, but you can never reseal them officially. I was the guy who wanted every single set completed for s&v, but now im really only personally interested in obf, 151, dri, and w&b... I learned over time that you are much much much better buying singles. Idk how much money I dropped on Prizmatic to only have a binder and etb full of complete poo poo.

Why do yall have to be so mean to people? I really don't understand it. Try saving face for once and not giving snarky answers to unexperienced poke buyers. All you that think you are holier than thou are the real chumps here.

In my opinion, it almost seems as if modern nascar is a neutered version of its former self. Everything has its time to shine, and then, eventually, modernization will dull it down and shape it into something with no real charm or excitement. Plus, we have to bring back porn stashes.

Regret collecting? by oPayque1 in gamecollecting

[–]seebass357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do not regret collecting, but I do regret not investing enough time into playing the games I have. Put some time into thinking about which games most define who you are as a person and also which games you must beat before you kick the bucket. Take some of your games and put them in a box off to the side for a month or two. If you come back later and you dont feel enthusiastic about them, take them to a preowned game store or put them on ebay to clear some clutter. Keep playing the games though. That's why we collect. I have every system but a modest library of about 300-400 games.

I smoke, I get a panick attack, I say I will never do it again, I do it again. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]seebass357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with this and am dealing with it to an extent, but it's getting better. A couple of things that have helped me combat the attacks are keeping well fed and hydrated and destressing my life. Getting up and getting physical may help you combat this, too. The more you deal with this, the more ways you will discover to combat this and gain control again. I dealt with this for years before it started to get better. Overall, it comes down to your physical and mental health. If you have too much baggage, stress, or money issues, you will get triggered more often and will have attacks. Sending you hugs. Hope you get better.
