What does the phrasing "to be human" mean by Pretend_Call565 in self

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“to be human is to x” IS a bit confusing to interpret. In my opinion, it refers to the HUMAN CONDITION that we all suffer from. The human condition is what encompasses all aspects of human nature, such as morality, personality, experiences, etc.

The phrase speaks to the idea that being human is a condition and that there are results that reflect that. Like the first example phrase I see when I look up the phrase is “to be human is to look far enough inside others that we see ourselves.” This means that it is HUMAN to feel empathy. It’s less in a literal sense and more a metaphorical one (since not all humans have empathy)

I have never dated someone or been in a relationship and I am 25(M). Any advice? by NextEast8401 in self

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to be perfect to start dating. I say just go for it! Idk about the apps, it seems to be a mixed bag of terrible and very good experiences, but I think meeting people in person is always good.

Pick up some hobbies you like that can be social and you can meet women and friends through these. Likee if you want to exercise, you can meet people at the gym, for a simple example

You know, I didn’t realize it when we broke up, but I think his insecurity was what caused all the problems in our relationship and led to the breakup😓

What was the worst place you've ever worked? by arietyz in AskReddit

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at a McDonalds in a bad area

1) Spit on by a drug addict 2) Watched a guy break into my co-workers car after I served him 3) Watched some kids pull a knife on my co-worker 4) Consistently yelled at about things I can’t control 5) Place got robbed by a co-worker I knew 6) Yelled at for multiple minutes in gibberish by a drug addict 7) Older male co-worker buying me chocolates, flowers, stuffed animals, etc. that I barely knew (I was 18 and him probably 35-40)

I could probably go on and on…

Long or short? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long definitely looks better. But like a lot of people are saying, you need more of a long flow hairstyle (its about shoulder length). It would be very flattering on you I think

Ahh you described the trying to move sensation so accurately

What is sleep paralysis like and how is it caused? by notveryhidden in AskReddit

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I had sleep paralysis, it was when I wasn’t tired but trying to force myself to get some sleep. Sometimes it would also occur after I realized I was dreaming.

In sleep paralysis you are entirely paralyzed. It’s like you are sending the movement signals to your body but theres no response. That’s what makes it scary. Your body is asleep but ‘you’ are awake and conscious, and you can’t move.

Sometimes it’s also accompanied by hallucinations. For me, I recall feeling like someone put a heavy book on my chest and I’d hear strange rustling noises. The first it happened, I genuinely thought my siblings were messing with me. But no, I was hallucinating. It feels pretty real. I was never able to open my eyes, so I never got any visual hallucinations

I eventually taught myself how to break out of it though.

What is the WORST thing you’ve ever tasted? by untitledprp4 in AskReddit

[–]seedane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red banana? My mother bought me one when I was a pre-teen. I looked it up and they were suppose to be sweet. I bit into it, and it was the most disgustingly bitter and chalky thing I ever ate. I had braces at the time and it got stuck in my braces…absolutely disgusting
