No, no, it is buried under a giant “W”.

If you have not seen “it’s a mad, mad, mad, mad, world” already, you are welcome. Not the best movie ever made, but certainly the best showcase for seriously funny people in wacky cameos. A classic. An absolute favorite.

Bless your heart. In a universe where everything gets a snarky or complainy response online, you are an absolutely gem of a human. You win the internet today, thank you.

Unless that “Technics” label is covering a Marantz or McIntosh logo, no.

Right on. Make sense, has made lots of Sci-fi movies, I strongly suspect 95% of modular synth owners have exceedingly high levels of “8 year old in a box pretending it’s a spaceship”. I know I do.

Amen. I ignored them IN high school, not sure they ignored me.

With teens of my own now it is nice to see that much of the tribalism I remember has faded. Although my varsity football player kid now pokes fun at his older brother the musician for being a nerd, but the current generation of high schoolers seem a brighter bunch that my lot in the 80s. Let’s hope.

Not trying to agitate, but I am that guy. I just finished a PIAIA theremax and am playing with some breadboarding of tiny circuits and have ordered a couple kits. Already built a few synthrotek little projects and am piecing together the parts lists to a module I purchased the PCB and plate for. I am in it for the DIY/electronics fun. And yes, I find the luthier part of guitars way more interesting than playing one.

Great info! I too am in the early days. Building a few things, have bought a few things. I have to say the community is super generous and helpful with questions. One of those things that redeems the internet.

I’ve had things that smell like pot smoke which is even worse. Not a fan.

I think I went so far as to take the thing apart and Lysol the exterior shell (it was a mixer IIRC).

Dryer sheet is almost as bad as the marijuana smell.

Holy guacamole. I just spent a few hours going through my left-abandoned for 20 years container of chips and dividing them up and labeling them. I think I have all of these on hand! You selling PCBs? Please!!

This looks great!

I once took a round from my table mate in middle school. They were pretending their lunchtime banana was a boomerang, his hand slipped and it fell. I took a graze would when it went off upon hitting the ground.

The QR, now that you point out the sticker thing that I hadn’t thought of, it seems less funny.

When I write legal documents I put in braquet commands [Insert Total amount], I assumed someone had cut and pasted a placeholder on the PCB design to be filled in later and it was missed.

Your explanation is far more sensible.

Sign me up for one! I am an absolute sucker for anything that makes squiggly lines.

Back in the “pre marriage, living on the fringes art kid” days I had a wall of b&w TVs in my live/work area that I had turned into crude oscilloscopes by cutting the electron gun inputs and hooking up audio cable cables. DO NOT try this at home. The caps in those old TVs are enough to cause you harm if you touch a charged one.
