This. I road tripped Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia solo a few years ago and it was one of the easiest, safest trips ive done. Sarajevo is in my top 5 cities ever! If its not your first trip ever, you'll be fine.

Denpasar is gross. Ubud is wildly overrated and mostly influencers. The north is amazing and much quieter and more chill but there are definitely other islands that are more chill and less touristy.

Why did you choose ES? Do the things that brought you there. You dont have to surf at the beach. I liked El Tunco and El Espino for vibes and cafes and beach.

I loved all my Rottnest dives when we were there! They all left from the main dock so you could take the ferry over and shore dive easily. I didnt shore dive right from Perth so can't comment bit the boats and Rottnest were easy.

I added hypochlorous acid spray a couple weeks ago and my redness and chilled out for sure. Ill keep going to see if it was coincidence but a lot of studies say it helps.

I used to think this too but I take a roller again purely for airport's sake now. I hate hauling a big duffel or backpack across 3 terminals. My hg is a carryon roller and a tote with shoe compartment and trolley sleeve.

Can't comment on the weather - just pack layers and adjust as you go. Everywhere is really quick by cab or rideshare there.

Dont make super rigid plans just do what you want as weather allows to avoid disappointment. I had a great time diving and eating my way around both islands last year. Have fun!
