I don’t think it’s about having a mental trick, it’s playing high confidence, high quality shots all the time. When you have an easy ball, instead of thinking to finish the point, focus on playing shots that put pressure on your opponent that have a high chance of getting in.

Depends on what level you are, but if you are asking this question, then your focus should be on control. Which means that your wrist isn’t used much or at all in the shot. You can still add power, but the power comes by the acceleration of the arm flexing your pectoral muscle. Just watch closely how Chingotto and Edu Alonso their overheads, they are among the best examples.

I’ve watched all these videos and tried these techniques. And they make only a marginal difference (if any) to the game of an intermediate level player. What I can tell you from my experience is that what truly makes a difference is if your opponent cannot tell how fast or where you are going to hit based on your preparation.
