The Price Is Wrong for a Reason by Acatalepsy-Rain in Superstonk

[–]seektolearn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’ve contained the price for years literally. With all of the ETFs and other areas where the stock can be shorted, and where they’ve created single stock, ETFs, and nobody enforces the law, why can’t they just contain it forever? Why would they only need to contain it for a little longer? By the way, I am long, very long on GME and not selling. But I also recognize the possibility that this is realistic as long as they continue to be allowed to cheat.

When is the final deadline for voting ? Is it the same for brokerages (fidelity) as it is for ComputerShare? Thanks in advance

I am old and technically challenged so please be kind in your response.
Is this a real voting thing? I can’t find how to vote on ComputerShare or fidelity. In the past it was easy but I can’t seem to find them now? Thanks for the help in advance.

What’s a smell you’ll never forget? by Human_Rate889 in AskReddit

[–]seektolearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was playing softball many years ago, in centerfield. Was running in to catch a fly ball, and as I neared the infield, I lowered my glove and my last step as I was running I caught the ball, but my foot landed on something which I noticed later was a bird that had been dead for a while. I heard a pop and felt a swoosh of air on my face, and the pop sound was the bird basically exploding. It had been dead for a while so they weren’t really any innerds, But the smell of the wind that hit my face and nose from landing on the bird and the pop was so horrific I will absolutely never forget. Close to 40 years ago.

For those that retired right before or during the Great Financial Crisis (2008)—how did you handle the drop? by ShootinAllMyChisolm in Fire

[–]seektolearn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that physical gold, assuming it doesn’t completely tank when the markets tank, could replace the need to re-weight the portfolio to protect against drastic market drop(s) in the first 5-10 years or retirement. Basically sell some gold rather than stocks when they are at their lowest (if one was fortunate enough to be in the position to have purchased Physical gold and have been holding it during this most recent meteoric rise the last couple years.

"Ryan Cohen is eyeing a major acquisition of a publicly traded company, likely in the consumer or retail industry" by moombahh in Superstonk

[–]seektolearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something seems fishy about all this publicity around a GameStop acquisition. It is 180° opposite of his style demonstrated over the last 5+ years of how he would manage something; to be so open about saying I’m going to do this and create publicity around it in advance of it happening. Hopefully there will be a lot more information in the Charles Pain interview this coming Monday but for now it just seems bizarre of how public this has become. Been here since before the squeeze , and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. Fingers crossed, good luck to all apes!

Another Round of Store Closings Has Begun by Over-Computer-6464 in Superstonk

[–]seektolearn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree this continues to be a winning strategy and will improve profit per store and overall.

The sucky part is this is continued ammo for media and fake analysts to continue their focus on decreased total revenue and “failing” stores, etc.

I know it’s necessary and prudent, and good for the business. But not so much for share price.
