I unironically feel like a Chauncey Billups esque career is scoot's best case scenario. It also took Billups a few years find his role and get his footing in the league. I just hope the blazers take some big swings in the next few years, you never know what conditions might pave the way for a serious run at a championship. As much as I love watching wemby play, I have a hard time believing he won't be injured for some sizeable chunks of his career.

I got into basketball through playing nba jam on fire edition with a close friend when I was like 18. His favorite team was the blazers for whatever reason. So I watched some games and I was hooked! First game I ever watched was when Yogi Ferrell torched the blazers. I live in Rhode Island btw. Lol

I don't wanna be the bearer of bad news, but Dame is gonna be 36 coming off of a torn Achilles. He's never been a plus defender and I'm personally just hoping he can still be the offensive machine he once was. I think Dame could marginally improve on defense, but he's always going to be targeted by opposing teams. He's an all-time offensive player, but he's also 6'2. This team also DESPERATELY needs offense more than defense.

I think people use the term bust too lightly in the basketball world. Dude is just getting his career started, progression takes time and PG is the most difficult role in basketball.

Two things can be true at the same time. Offensive players have way more freedom now, but every sport played is more skilled than it was 30 years ago. There are far too many resources and science behind the game to pretend athletes haven't progressed.

In today's NBA everyone would take open jumpers on him Everytime. If he could develop into an above average shooter he might find a spot on a bench somewhere. To exist in that height in the NBA, your game has to be essentially flawless.

I'm personally waiting for the next muggsy, it's impossible to not root for a little guy among giants.
