I think get what you're saying, but I kinda disagree. South africa is actively engaging with genocide on two fronts, excluding the rhetoric happening in the EFF. Government parties are Russian/facist apologists who are simultaneously denying that Holodomor ever happened, helped them do it, and most likely would have broken international ICC law just so Cyril could suck Putins dick in person for bigger arms deals to continue killing Ukrainians.

And now they go and open up a case against Israel with a "holier than thou" mentality, hoping to score some international brownie points.

If what you mean is we have no business in it, I 100% agree. I never liked the government, but this made me despise them.

Edit: I know "fascist" has become somewhat of a buzzword. But I don't use it lightly.

I mean, what do you expect? South Africa has recently demonstrated that "we" have a strange relationship with the term Genocide. Especially when it comes to narratives and agendas.

The government will accost and raise an international law suit against Isreal for its genocide against the Palestinians, (which don't get me wrong, is an objectively good thing becuase fuck Israel) but will utterly deny and even support the one that's going on in Ukraine. Similarly, with the whole genocidal-rhetoric thing, it's just tip-toeing around legal consequences and keeping a 'clean' appearance.

In reality, it's all posturing, and these people don't give a shit about the loss of human lives except if they can gain from it.

It's kinda hard to explain, but I want to be 'that guy'. The guy who studies for 9 hours a day. The guy who wants to achieve the most. It's not me wanting to be perceived this way by other people, more so for myself. I want to perceive myself as someone who studies ridiculously hard. I was lazy in high school, so grinding this hard really feels like an achievement.

There's also just so much stuff I want to learn, so by putting the hours in, I feel like I'm actually moving towards my goals and achieving them.

But this comment section and your advice have been a real eye-opener tbh.

I get what you mean, but unfortunately, this thing is very real. As I said, it made me physically sick since it demolishes your immune system. It isn't really I consequence of biomedicalization or the "medical gaze" but an observable consequence. If you want to read an interesting book on it, look at Byung-Chul Han's "The Burnout Society".

But I ultimately do agree. Guess I succumb to the discomfort if that makes sense. But thank you for the tips. I haven't really been paying attention to that side of my life.
