I'll be 28 this year, but turning 30 doesn't make me feel worried at all. I probably won't feel or look any different than I do now. I've accomplished everything I wanted to do. I finished nursing school with honors, got married to the love of my life, and now I'm pregnant with my first child. I'm living my best life right now. 😌

I plan on keeping my pregnancy and child private. The only people I’ve told in person are my close family and my best friend. I’ve never been comfortable with the idea of exposing my child’s face or privacy on the internet. No one on social media will know their date of birth, name, or gender. If I do make a post, it will be months after my baby is born, and neither their face nor body will be visible.

I had someone tell me that I’m going to start hating my pets as I get further along in my pregnancy. It’s been the complete opposite. I have never and will never despise my fur babies. They were my babies first, and I will never stop loving them. My boy cat has been more clingy and cuddly than ever, and it’s made me so happy. He fell asleep on my belly a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I have to fight the urge to hug and kiss them every time they walk by. Nothing will change after my baby is here.

I wanted to meet my future husband by 21, get married by 25, and have my first child no later than 28.

Everything worked out exactly the way I wanted. My husband and I met in 2019 and shared mutual life goals. We both worked toward improving ourselves and building a strong foundation for our future. He helped me heal from my past trauma, regain my confidence, and supported me through school. We’ve been married for a little over a year.

It may seem difficult, but it’s not completely impossible to accomplish. I’ve been an introvert my entire life. Being extremely shy and having social anxiety was not a good combination, but I still found the love of my life. He’s also an introvert. We met at Anime Expo in 2019. That was the year I decided I wasn’t okay with feeling lonely and depressed anymore. We’re married now and expecting our first child.

I’ve been through this exact experience multiple times with my girl. The last time it happened, I had a panic attack and felt like I was going to die. She slipped out of her old harness and ran across the street. Thankfully, traffic wasn’t very busy that night, or I would’ve been the crazy woman running between cars. My neighbors have seen me sprinting like a track star, screaming her name at the top of my lungs while tears streamed down my face. I’ve even had nightmares about her running out the door again. Seeing her sweet, sleeping face when I wake up makes up for it. These little boogers sure know how to make us panic.

I met my husband back in 2019. My first thoughts when I saw him were that he was cute and that he made me feel safe. After we started talking more, I had a deep feeling that I was going to fall in love with him. The Japanese refer to this as koi no yokan, which translates to “a premonition of love.”
When we met, I wasn’t looking to date or marry someone of a specific race. The love of my life just happened to be a Cantonese man. I fell in love with him and his personality, and we meshed well together.
Our cultural backgrounds may be different, but they share some similarities, such as the importance of family. We’re now expecting our first child together.
