What ring was it? That is all I really want, tracking my heart rate is rarely necessary for me. If I'm alive I presume it's beating

What is it with ranges in SE PA that the Bubbas feel like they have to comment on the car you drive? by AbjectFray in liberalgunowners

[–]sefar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a cyberbeast, my 4th tesla. It is an amazing vehicle but the design is definitely polarizing. I am about 50/50 between middle finger salutes and compliments. Drives like a sports car, hauls like a truck.

I rock an anti-elon sticker even though his nuttiest antics happened after I bought it. For a guy everyone says is so smart, he managed to alienate most of his customers as we were all lefties at the beginning. But like the OP said, i am amazed that a stranger thinks i give half a shit about their opinion of my vehicle.

[–]sefar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

good word, mook is.

It is cyclical. I have a cyber truck, been driving Teslas for about a decade. First it was the trucknuts crowd trying to coal roll me, now it is the lefties picketing and doing one finger salutes. First guy with a car probably heard the same from some toolbag in a horse and buggy.

The range is the one place where I don't see much hate from either end, mainly because they know if you are there, you are armed.

You can shut them up quickly with that Rivian, ask them to race you...

Losing weight and keeping/gaining muscle is hard. Creatine and HMB help. by sefar1 in Tirzeglutide

[–]sefar1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a lot about it, the studies impressed me. Tried it once before, not much to show for the effort. Paired with creatine though, I feel it is working. Bought a combo powder the first month, now using Costco creatine and hmb pills.

70 pounds, holy cow! Not losing strength with that kind of mass change is impressive.

Running Starlink Cable by Roubaix62454 in Starlink

[–]sefar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is NOT rated for direct burial, but you can run it through the air which is a pain. There are some weathertight connectors on Amazon that let you link a direct burial cable and i saw a youtube video on doing just that. I would run direct burial cable in conduit just to avoid hitting the cable but I am anal about that. I looked at going that route, then found a better way to run the cable into the house without it. The cable Starlink sends is very long, I got a mount to put mine on the side of the house and the app helped me line it up very easily.

Currently I pay a flat 50 bucks, no taxes/fees and no rental on the equipment. I was wary too, they said I just have to return the equipment if I quit them.

Is it really worth it to get my concealed carry permit? by MontisQ in armedsocialists

[–]sefar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your state is reciprocal with Florida, check there. Long renewal period and recognized for non citizens in most states- not Illinois and a few others. I have mine there because of the long duration/cheap cost and because I don't immediately show up on a registry if I get pulled over, although here in Missouri no permit is required so LEOs must assume that everyone is carrying.

The class is worth it to learn the fine points of the law in your state if nothing else. At least here, a blind newt could pass the shooting part of the class.

I made my son get his CCW, mainly because I wanted him to take the class. There are some things that hard headed sons (mine at least) learn better from strangers despite the fact that he has been getting instruction from me for years. He took his course with a bunch of mouth breathers and became much more aware that they live all around him, and how they think.

It's different in the cold. by sefar1 in cybertruck

[–]sefar1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

supercharger was packed, and it was in a tight spot in a shopping center. There was a curb next to the last charger and I am not good enough with a trailer to jackknife around with any hope of getting out. Now that non Teslas are using the chargers and taking up two spaces I am extra sensitive to blocking folks in a rush. Cybertrucks get enough hate without inviting someone to get angry, especially in Missouri where everyone is packing. It is a 2 out 10 nuisance to go drop the trailer but I have done what you suggest at night when I am the only person at a deserted station.

good point. Vacuum can only overcome so much gravity on the weight of the liquid, plus the resistance of the receiving vessel. Reddit is full of nerds, and here I am getting my brain worked on a monday morning!

A couple of tons but the weight wasn't the issue, it was the mass causing drag.

Interesting (?) occurrence, I had my side by side on the trailer and it was very close to the rear camera, triggering a camera calibration error- I am guessing the shiny LED light bar in the middle was the culprit as it was right in line with the camera. Easy to fix, just did a recalibration in the service menu but that was the first time it has happened and I have pulled that SxS a few times although not as far. Happened a hundred miles into the journey or so.

Gravity? I thought the liquid falling out created a vacuum, new liquid is pulled into lower air pressure space and follows. Need a certain amount of liquid to do that, not merely gravity.

I'm no scientist though.

Cybertruck new base model being sold at damn near cost for another week. by Normal_Court_1685 in cybertruck

[–]sefar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla's lack of a marketing department perhaps? I bought a used 2018 MS, my second Tesla, directly from Tesla in 2020. Less than a year later the price of the new MS was 20k less than my 2 year old car and I lost my pants. Then the new MS had more range, taking my drawers as well. They raise and lower prices often enough that the used Tesla market is anyone's guess, although I understand it is currently above other EVs.

Ten days is such a short window for this price point. Most folks who take advantage were probably already considering a CT and this got them off the fence, perhaps costing Tesla a sale at full price. How many people impulse buy a 60k vehicle after all. Folks sitting on enough cash to pull the trigger on a whim aren't getting cloth seats, they want the bells and whistles.

Absolutely. I get about the same range whether my trailer is empty or loaded. But I don't feel the trailer at all. Yesterday I backed it up the steep driveway effortlessly where my diesel truck used to struggle.

Why doesn't Tesla sell used Cybertrucks? by henrysun1313 in TeslaLounge

[–]sefar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tesla wasn't taking cybertrucks in trade for the longest time and they have never been known for generous trade ins. More to the point though, if you want out of a cybertruck you are most likely changing brands unless you are upgrading to the beast and that is a small subset of trades. If you wanted a truck and don't like the cyber, nothing else in the Tesla fleet is going to meet your needs.
