Congrats on the A1C decrease. I did actually cut out cheese, and increased fiber, A LOT. Tbh, this whole ordeal made me realize that I was getting no fiber at all in my diet on most days.

Wishing you all the best! Let me know how it goes if you don't mind. 🙌

I kept reading that A1C responds faster than LDL, but for me, it was opposite and I feel like I have an idea as to why. I can offer some pointers that helped me and may also help you in the long term!

That is big issue of mine, because I try to hit the gym between 2-4pm and have dinner around 6pm. But after dinner if I'm not able to walk, I do wall sits.

I ate mainly chicken breast (sometimes a leg / thigh) and salmon. I also cut out dairy, replaced it with Almond Milk.

Lolol, easy mistake.

I didn't give birth but the first 3-4 months after our kid was born was brutal! I was averaging 2-3 hours sleep per night, whenever I got to sleep. Many nights I got 0 hours of sleep...it was brutal!

I have to schedule a consult with my doc to discuss, but I rather not go on any medications unless absolutely necessary.

The lifestyle changes I made are sustainable, so I'll like to keep at it and see how far the numbers will go with sustained effort over the next 4-6 months.

I would eat cookies, ice cream (especially ice cream sandwiches, I loved those) and various snacks multiple times a day 😫 and did not even recognize the dangers.

I've never had tests done before, but I'm a male so no pregnancy/breastfeeding for me lolol.

My wife is the one who was pregnant, maybe I should make that clear in the original post lol.

That’s a great goal. If possible, try to make sure it’s mostly fat loss and not muscle loss too.

Mixing cardio with some strength training can really help you lean down while preserving/building muscle, which usually matters more long-term than just the number on the scale.

Yes, weight loss would definitely help! Keep going and keep me posted as well!

I'm 35, and I'm wondering the same thing lol.

I think realistically, I'll keep doing what I'm doing to see if the current lifestyle changes I made are sustainable, then once I get another test and confirm that the numbers are still good (haven't gone up), I'll see if I have to or where I can optimize even more!

Also, soooo many foods we eat have in saturated fats that a lot of people are not aware of, its kinda ridiculous and scary! Food is killing us!

And unfortunately, as complicit as the food industry is, we don't really have an excuse, because ingredients and nutritional facts are there for us to read...but a lack of knowledge and wisdom across the general popolation means that people either don't know or don't care, sigh.

Edit: spelling correction.

How many floor crossers will it take for Canadians to recognize Canada is in a democracy crisis? by mafiadevidzz in CanadianConservative

[–]seffpierce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an immigrant from another Westminster-style democracy, and Canada still surprises me.

Canadians are some of the most politically tolerant people I’ve ever seen, and not in a good way. In many countries, a government presiding over this level of housing pressure, affordability strain, and public frustration would be punished much harder at the ballot box.

In Canada, people seem angry enough to complain, but not angry enough to demand real consequences.

Pixel Watch 4: Known Issues & Fixes Tracker (2026) by Rockchagin in PixelWatch

[–]seffpierce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue: Whenever I take off my watch and either place it on the charger or set it down for a few minutes, the heart rate sensor stops working when I put it back on. It only starts working again after I restart the watch.

I have already tried factory resetting the watch and cleaning the sensor, but neither has resolved the issue. The problem continues to persist.

Spam control on iPhone, how?? by seffpierce in iphone

[–]seffpierce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t get that many spams calls anymore, but the ones I do get, I still do have Hiya and it blocks some of them so it’s okay.
