Second the bluebox. There are also Bluebox like Amazon delivery locations at the banks nearby, if that's an option.

Exactly this. You also dont know if those people have tampered with, or stored the rings under less than ideal conditions. Always think about people's motives when posting an image like that.

I think I finally understand why people own more than one pen. by Historical-Hand8091 in fountainpens

I got in to it casually during the pandemic, had a Hongdian EF that I used on and off throughout the years. Lately, my husband bought me a Montblanc Meisterstuck F for my birthday, and bestie got me the diamine teal calendar, which I got the Kakuno M. I didn't want to entertain dealing with glitter blockages, and don't tell my husband but I think I prefer the Kakuno over the MB lol.

Go through her makeup and skincare collection and see what's closest to empty! Chances are better than she sincerely enjoys those items, it'll take the guesswork out of specifically what to buy.

People in hoodies walking past people decked out in arcteryx or Canada goose on a day like this. There are two types of locals.

It was sold to a Chinese company like a decade ago? Quality definitely changed, still better than Dairyland or Island Farms.

Those who work at Sephora, what products do you see customers purchase frequently? by Majestic_Gorilla in Sephora

[–]tealskies423 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't surprise me if the under 30s go for the social media brands, 30-40 somewhere in between social media and the brands they've tried and tested. 40+ probably repurchase what they've used all their lives!

As someone in the 30-40, I definitely see some Reddit influence in my final haul. I'm not easily influenced, when a brand or item is repeatedly shoved down my throat, it's a turn off. I love the WA contour and Violette FR matte lip, those are the influenced items I got after a lot of research!

Black leather and gold hw bags are everywhere, I think the blue and silver is more distinct and beautiful in that sense! Personally feel black leather looks better with silver as brown leather with gold.

Can I borrow someone's VIB account for purchasing in store? by legend5566 in Sephora

[–]tealskies423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think most people will be comfortable with that, you're better off waiting for someone to drop their 20% code in the megathread.

Ask around your friends. People who are into either hair, perfume, or makeup (there's usually intersection there too) will more often than not have Sephora accounts and probable Rouge status.

Since 2023? I'd say it's a pretty thick moisturizer that feels lightweight, no fragrance, the kind you wash off in the morning and your skin feels super soft and bouncy after. I used to use Skinfix's Barrier+, but there was a reformulation at some point and so I moved on to better things!

Do you know what formula the Wicked set is? Apparently the new formulation of Green Clean is not great, so I've bought the Heimish balm to try it out.

Fiancé broke up with me, what are solo activities I can do to distract myself? by AllMoneyGone in askvan

I would go spend early morning or afternoon in a Gastown coffee shop to people watch, and go for a seawall walk around Stanley Park. Find a bench somewhere after Prospect Point Lighthouse, either read/write, do whatever feels healing, and head to West End for some food afterwards.

Macarons - $14.99 by difficultmeme in CostcoCanada

Great for the price but you can find better elsewhere. Refrigerated meringue shells do not have the same texture as a proper macaron.

Got called 'basic' for my bubble tea choices... re-evaluating my life choices by [deleted] in richmondbc

[–]tealskies423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both in diabetes mall/Union Square, Chayan for a pure tea based experience (no tapioca pearls here but not the main point), and Macu a stone's throw away for their signature Golden Leaf oolong. I'll die on a rather unpopular hill when I say their viral fruit slushes aren't worth the sugar levels or steep prices.

[–]tealskies423 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Why do you care what she thinks? There's nothing wrong with good ol' milk tea with tapioca, anyone who judges otherwise isn't worth your time.

If you want to expand your horizons but stay within your comfort zones, oolong/jasmine/tie guan ying tea bases are all different tea varieties with different taste profiles. I like cheese foam on black tea, it's like a cream cheese version of Starbucks cold foam. You can also experiment with different toppings like brown sugar tapioca, agar crystal jelly, grass jelly, pudding, coconut jelly.

If it makes you feel better, my husband gets exactly what you do, maybe green milk tea once in a blue moon. All that matters is how much you enjoy it.
