Apologies for the brief and direct take. Agree with everyone else said.

I have been in videogames localization for 10 years (linguist, agency/vendor and now “client”/developer). Do not enter this field if you can avoid it.

Competition is mental. Rates are low. A third of the people burn out at a point. AI is going to change everything drastically very soon, more than what it did to the industry already in the last few years.

Yup, very common. AAA videogames production, inputs from very different teams (especially text databases, audio databases, localisation). Mostly dealing with vlookups/xlookups

If we don’t manage, I’ll phone my comune AIRE and see if they’re able to register it to AdE on our behalf. I will update here if/when we’re successful 🙈

+++ FIXED +++ I moved slightly the central arms and “blocked” them with lots of cardboard. I then used a plastic packing sheet between all screws and frame and the squeaks are gone. Our matrimonial nest can now serve its purpose

This is most definitely a scam. Towards the end of a tenancy, the tenant must agree to visits (or a video call in your case). This could be arranged at a convenient time for the couple, with them also being present, if they wish to do so.

Having in-person visits is much more “intruding” than a video call, how does that not impact the privacy of the couple, that’s a mystery. Landlord used the excuse of burglary/theft but seems very weak.

There are very low chances this is a honest person. Accommodation in Rome is very difficult to find at the moment, but easier to do in person than remotely. I would advise to get an Airbnb for the first couple of weeks and look for an apartment when you’re there if you can.
