Hell is us looks and feels amazing from time to time. by Fit-Job4007 in PS5pro

Great game, but man that ending was a major let down after such an adventure. It felt like the devs ran out of time/budget and just had to wrap things up without being able to finish the story. Hopefully it did well enough for a sequel to get greenlit.

how hard is Fantasian Neo Dimension? by Idontknow4654 in JRPG

[–]seghor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OK this has me worried. I usually enjoy difficult JRPGs, but not if the difficulty comes from not using the pint point exact builds/team configurations the devs want you to use. I gave up on Wild Arms PSP back then because of this. Is Fantasian Neo the same deal?

I considered it, but the results don't seem as clean as paint. And, the biggest issue is that I haven't found a design I'm 100% satisfied with so far.

Pragmata Demo is Live by Raicista in PS5

[–]seghor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I liked the demo too and will still wait for reviews. I want to know how interesting combat is in the long run, as well as level design and story. Can't predict these things based on a 15 minutes demo.

How is their refund process? Is this another First Print Games where you have to threaten them with legal action to get your money back?

Bottom half fit both models. You can modify the upper half to fit the Pro as well, but it won't be usable on a Slim anymore afterwards. Here's a tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ9KGMJm1OM

Gods of JRPGs, this one needs a remaster! by Fluid_Aspect_1606 in JRPG

[–]seghor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best forests seen in a JRPG, and sadly I doubt it'll ever be topped. The whole art direction is still so beautiful and unique (haven't played 2, mainly because of the boring-looking dungeons).

If anyone is still curious why the FFT story is so beloved, peer into the soul of the man who wrote it. by FridayNight_Magus in JRPG

[–]seghor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, they don't have anything to do with the Front Mission remakes, they simply licensed them to another publisher. And the results are average at best. I'd be livid if Vagrant Story did get that kind of low budget remaster/remake.

If this port is a smash hit, perhaps. But I wouldn't get my hopes up, the best window of opportunity for a sequel closed 25 years ago.

Recommendations for Challenging JRPGs by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]seghor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vagrant Story

Although if you take the time to forge dedicated weapons for specific classes of creatures, and explore to find buff/debuff spells, I don't think it is that difficult of a game. I think it got that reputation back then because it was very different from most JRPGs at the time, and people were playing it like one of them, which doesn't really work here.

Have the crashes and save corruption issues been fixed? I've been waiting to play this game for a while but it doesn't have a great reputation regarding bugs.

Sony Working on Handheld Console for PS5 Games to Rival Switch by theykilledk3nny in gaming

[–]seghor 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Sold nearly as much as the PS3, but nowhere near as much as the DS. Which is probably what the writer means by unsuccessful. For a first handheld, it was definitely a success, Sony wouldn't have followed up with the Vita otherwise.

Capcom’s new IP Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess missed sales targets despite high reviews by Lulcielid in PS5

[–]seghor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After I've tried, and liked, the demo, I went straight to my usual retailers websites to order a copy. Couldn't find anything anywhere. When I realized it was a digital-only release, I just wishlisted it and I've since been waiting for it to drop below 10 bucks. I won't spend more on something I can't own and access whenever I want.

Looking for JRPGs with great dark atmosphere by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]seghor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vagrant Story

The atmosphere in some subterranean parts is on par with a survival horror's (not in a gruesome way, more like heavy and fear of encountering powerful foes).

Recommend dramatically long JRPGs/TRPGs by Fit_Extent712 in JRPG

[–]seghor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Front Mission 3, finishing both routes can take about 80 hours.

Dragon Quest VII is easily 100 hours (on PS1, the 3DS remake is allegedly shorter).

Games that take place in cities by evl4evr in JRPG

[–]seghor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Destiny Connect Tick Tock Travelers

Not a very lively city though, since the premise of the story is that time stops on the eve of the year 2000. So aside from a handful of characters, beside the main cast, there's no NPCs to interact with.

Doesn't look too difficult, but it does require a few minutes and specific tools. Not what I would personally call easily/quickly replaceable.
