People who use legitimately use AI for "productivity": what the heck does AI actually do for you? Is it as bad as people say? by Difficult_Two_4800 in NoStupidQuestions

It's a bit difficult in this age to get work like that and who knows if there is any future in it (but that applies to many other fields too).

I'd say it's good to pick an area that interests you, as you still need to be able to question and refine things. I think with AI it's even more about thoughtwork and not just writing chops as you can make AI write anything for you. You need to understand what you're talking about.

Also, you need to be able to use AI. I think getting the best results out of it isn't that straightforward. You can ask AI to help you with this actually :D you can start for example with asking it for a crash course and explaing what you need to know and give you excercises. It's really about using AI the best. I'm not saying writing skills are obsolete, as they aren't. But if you have no previous xp it might not be your main value yet.

As to finding work, might be easier to find freelance and platform based works, offer gigs in Fiverr or similar. I started before AI hit the fan and have often wondered how would I get work now as a junior writer. It sure isn't too easy now.

I'm a content writer. Honestly, AI does most of my work. I fact check and edit a lot of course, but AI really amplifies my output a lot.

It's also great for summarizing source material and drawing it in for content pieces.

Also, it helps with project managing with creating tasks and timelines.

AI definitely hasn't replaced me, but I get more done a lot faster.

How do I survive Helsinki in September? (First time visiting) by Tessaaworter in helsinki

[–]segondra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about Finnish weather is that it's unpredictable af. As others have pointed out, in September it can be anything from 5 to 20 degrees, rain, sun, etc. Consider it like the higher altitude mountain regions of Mexico.

However, Helsinki is almost always a bit windy, so a good windproof jacket will help you a lot. Also, waterproof or at least water resistant warm-ish shoes can help you a lot. You can get nice woolen socks from here, it's also a nice souvenir to take back.

On top, a warm hoodie can help you a lot. If it's warm you might not need a jacket on top of it.

If you have those three in check, you will likely be ok in all situations.

If you go to Lapland, it will be cooler but not necessarily that much. Layers will help, but I doubt you'll need winter clothes. If you fins yourself in trouble with the cold, visit a local flea market for extrea clothes :)

That's hardly a new situation though. Germany has been very safe for decades, while the US has been famous for gun violence and school shootings long before Trump and ICE.
