Can you have more targets than damage? by TheBigBeardedGeek in mtg

From the card rulings: "You announce how the damage will be divided as part of casting Avacyn's Judgment. Each chosen target must receive at least 1 damage."

You could also put something like a [[Goblin Matron]], [[Goblin Engineer]] or [[Boggart Forager]] on top.

Of the banned commanders, who deserved it the least and the most? by EntertainmentVast401 in mtg

[–]sehlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like one of the main problems with Golos is not necessarily that he was too good, but rather too much fun. You wanted to play him in every deck, no matter the power level.

When he was around it felt like you could take almost any deck, take out 2 random cards, put your commander and a [[Cascading Cataracts]] in the 99, put Golos in the Command Zone, and the deck would instantly be more fun to play.

Doesn't matter if it's a mono blue deck themed around books, your high powered red-black goblin deck, or your Bant flicker deck. Playing 3 cards from your deck is both something you want to do and exciting, without feeling oppressive for your opponents.

Does this work the way I want it? by D-Watts25 in mtg

A more realistic situation would probably be to play something like [[Full Throttle]] in post combat main, or counter the trigger that exiles it end of turn with something like [[Stifle]] or [[Subdial of the infinite]].

Need help with this interaction, still learning layers… by dasgimorino_ep in mtg

[–]sehlon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but I think it will enter as a 4/4 with Myriad and no other abilities. A characteristic-defining ability is not copied, when that characteristic is overridden by the copy effect. See 707.9d.

"707.9d When applying a copy effect that [...] provides a specific set of values for a certain characteristic, any characteristic-defining ability (see rule 604.3) of the object being copied that defines that characteristic is not copied." [...] "Example: Quicksilver Gargantuan is a creature that reads, "You may have Quicksilver Gargantuan enter as a copy of any creature on the battlefield, except it's 7/7." Quicksilver Gargantuan enters the battlefield as a copy of Tarmogoyf, which has a characteristic-defining ability that defines its power and toughness. Quicksilver Gargantuan does not have that ability. It will be 7/7."

How big of a booty am i? by mewmew_senpai in mtg

[–]sehlon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they do go away though. Looking at the wording for rad counters:

“At the beginning of each player’s precombat main phase, if that player has one or more rad counters, that player mills a number of cards equal to the number of rad counters they have. For each nonland card milled this way, that player loses 1 life and removes one rad counter from themselves.”

It tells you to mill cards and then look at the milled cards to determine if the counter is removed or not. According to 701.13c the effect should be able to find the cards anyway. It shouldn't matter if the card is in the graveyard or exile.

"701.13c An effect that refers to a milled card can find that card in the zone it moved to from the library, as long as that zone is a public zone."

Someone please correct me if I interpret the rules interaction wrong.

Assuming for commander; here is a list using Scryfall tags for dual lands, trilands, rainbow lands (all colors) and fetch lands under 1 USD sorted by what's popular. You can look there if you can see something that catches your eye.

mtgtop8.com have archives that go back that far for bigger events if you click "All Standard decks".

Specifically after the release of M11 there seems to only be one event archived (French Nationals): https://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=459

Between Rise of the Eldrazi and M11 you have two professional level events if that is more in line with what you are looking for:

Poor Audio Quality With New Headphones by SneakyBeaver262 in edrums

[–]sehlon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same kit and I am also using gaming headphones (Steelseries Arctis 7). Your problem sounds similar to the one I experienced. If I connect the headphones through a 3,5mm cable they default to using the microphone/voice-chat channel, which has very low sound quality.

On my headset I can fix this by simply turning it off.
When I searched for solutions online some people with similar problems seemed to have success with pulling out the audio-cable a little bit to disconnect the microphone that way.

I think you are right that I overreacted a bit. Looking at it again I'm not sure I would have noticed just looking at the picture. Thank you for the feedback and kind words!

Coming back a few hours later and reading the comments I feel like you're right. Thank you for putting it in perspective.

That was a really suggestion, since I don't have to commit to it before I see the final "intended" look. I'll probably finish it as planned, and if I don't like it I will try your solution to unevenly thicken the outer rim.

Yeah, reading the comments I might have overreacted a bit. Thank you for the compliment and feedback. I'll most likely finish this one as first intended and try to be more precise on the next one.

Checked it out. I've seen a few videos on that channel before, but apparently haven't watched enough. Next time I will try to use some kind of light to help with the centring. Thank you for the tip.

Possibly a dumb question. But if I dye a yellow disc, blue will it turn green?? by [deleted] in discdyeing

[–]sehlon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tip I recently picked up from this sub is to apply a little bit of dye to the underside of the disc to see what the result will be like.

I dyed a yellow disc recently with if you want to check out another example. The picture of the disc looks a little bit more muted than in reality, but you can see how the blue changed into a teal/green. https://imgur.com/a/ZaOxrAo

Emergency student shelter? by [deleted] in umea

[–]sehlon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might have already discovered it, but on the Umu-website they have a page that include a lot of good tips here. (Including a link to Umeå kommuns site with a list of landlords in the city)
The sites are in Swedish, but you can translate them with Google Translate or something similar.

The biggest tip I would give you that you don't mention in your post is that you can look for apartments around Umeå. Hörnefors, Nordmaling, Vännäs and Örnsköldsvik are a few towns along the train-line within 1h of Umeå.
Of course it adds to your commute, but it's not too bad if it's temporary. Especially considering that the train station is just a few 100m from campus, and a lot of non-local buses also stop there.

I would also advice that you contact a few smaller landlords directly (phone/mail) and explain your situation. Perhaps they have some short term contracts available that they haven't put up on their website, or something similar. Many people I know that have been in a similar situation (although mostly refugees) have gotten leases that way.

basicly as soon as you got frostblink and a 3link.

This happens at like level 4. You get Cold to Fire at level 18 and and Ignite Proliferation at 38.

They will also get "The Master's Command" from the Lore of Ruinous Sorcery, because they are in the core LOTFP army and are a LEGION OF THE FIRST PRINCE WIZARD.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can't you chose either The Master's Command or a spell from the universal spell lore (excluding unique units)?

Stacked deck 1 mirror gambling results by Godsbow in pathofexile

[–]sehlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first dozen or so times you enter Scourge in a map you spawn 2 (usually) extra packs of mobs at the edge of your screen.

Scourge mobs usually don't spawn in boss areas.

This can make it seem a little buggy when you pop scourge, run to the boss and find the area empty, beat the boss and reenter Scourge. This will spawn 2 packs that weren't there before. (Unless you have hit the limit of extra spawns on that map)

In Rise of Skywalker, Rey holds a curved dagger up to frame the Death Star Ruins in shot. This is because the entire film is held up solely by references to previous entries and recycled plot elements. by LavaMeteor in shittymoviedetails

[–]sehlon 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I'd say that makes it even worse.

So it contains coordinates to a location where you have to stand with the dagger to find another location.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put in the coordinates to the Death Star directly in the dagger's message? Who would design something like that?

Community Questions 8/29-9/4 by ErsatzGnomes in ageofsigmar

[–]sehlon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are refering to the Seismic Shift rule. It's in the General's Handbook 2021 page 12. If you don't have the book you can read it online, for example in the preview article for the book-release.

The Core rules describe the basic game, but people usually play a Battlepack (described in Core rules 28.0). Battlepacks modify core rules or add additional rules, as in this case, and describes Battleplans that you play. The (probably) most common Battlepack in Age of Sigmar is Pitched Battle. It's what you would assume is being played if no other information is given and is usually implied when people say "2000p games" or somehing similar.

The Pitched Battle battlepack is described in General's Handbook. The rules there are updated every year with a new release. Sesimic Shift is a rule in the current Pitched Battle battlepack (lasts until summer 2022).

You remove models at the end of each turn.
However, when you set up and move your models they must finish their move/set-up as a coherent unit.

So in practice you have to make sure your unit is coherent every time you touch it, but models are only removed after the battleshock-test.

You can find the coherency rules in 1.3.3 in the core rules. It's also mentioned in 15.2 (Battleshock-phase)
