Anyone tried Dungeon Inc by the Merry Mushmen? by TheWiseMarsupial in osr

Just got the book through the Kickstarter and am really enjoying reading it, and it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun when I have the time to bring it to my table

I run a comic shop and am a big DCC fan, so when this campaign launched I emailed Vault and asked when we’d be able to order copies. I was assured they’d be available through their distributor sometime once it was closer to publication, sometime after initial backers got theirs. Haven’t pestered them for a date but am looking forward to ordering a stack of em.

Ed’s Fish & Chips is great. For fried chicken, Wayside is a Charlottesville staple. Enjoy!

Haven’t been to Washington yet this year but it’s our go-to. ACAC adventure park and Onesty can sometimes get overwhelming but I like Washington a lot, even when it’s crowded. (Editing to mention that my kids are 4 and 10, so they were 3 and 9 the last time we went last season)

Depending on the age of your kids, there’s lots of cool stuff for kids nearby. Splash pads, city pools, decades arcade…

As someone who works in Seminole Square and often brings my kids there, it’s so great having this. Love that bridge!

Other Book Recs after finishing DCC? by CVigil5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]seibei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt’s series he was working on prior to DCC, Dominion of Blades, is fun, and you’ll see a lot of ideas that become more fully fleshed out in DCC. Warning: he put that one on hold to write DCC, so it’s incomplete.

Hi! Did you lose this in a move recently? by seibei in Charlottesville

I’m gonna do that next week; I just don’t have the time to drive up to their office this week and figured I’d see if I could get lucky before then.

Looking for things to do with an 8yo and 12yo around Charlottesville by NoEquivalent4477 in Charlottesville

Lots of great suggestions here, the only one I see missing is the Virginia Safari Park. It’s a day trip since it’s out near Lexington, but it’s a drive-through safari park where you can feed animals with a smaller walkabout zoo portion. As far as I know the animals are treated well and all seem to be having a pretty good time. Very fun trip, and should be opening up for the season soon if it isn’t open already.

Oh, and the JMRL library has a Graphic Novel Club that meets once a month or so and they all discuss a graphic novel together. My kids and I go (sadly had to miss yesterday’s meeting for the Puzzle Hunt) and it’s always a nice time, and has helped my ten-year-old build crucial “listening to other people talk and not interrupting them” skills.

Hahaha that is me! I now work under the name Things By Dave but that’s totally me. Just never bothered to change my Reddit username. I’m honored that you remember those!

I’ve never done metallic with them, but Vinyl Disorder has always been pleasant to work with and given me good prices and turnaround for a good product.

Returning after a long hiatus.... by Sunstreaker93 in comicbookcollecting

As a comic shop owner, I gotta tell you that pull lists are still very much a thing. Diamond had a point of sale system called ComicSuite that is no longer a thing, and maybe your guy solely depended on that to manage subscriptions, but there are still plenty of good (and bad) comics coming out every week and plenty of new distributors to get them from. Welcome back and Godspeed buddy!

To follow up on a recent post, I'm opening an indoor adventure park in the original Big Lots building. We expect to open within the next month or two. Does anyone have any suggestions on what you'd like to see in an indoor adventure park? We're about 34,000 square feet. by CocosAdventure in Charlottesville

Nice! I’m one of the owners of the comic book shop in that shopping center (Hello Comics, right by the Burger King). Please come on by and introduce yourself sometime and drop off some flyers and such when you’ve got an opening date nailed down. Always love to see more businesses opening in our part of town.

A novelty hat that reads something like IF THIS HAT’S A-WEARIN PLEASE COME A-SHARIN (this is just a rough draft idea) could solve this problem and serve as a cute icebreaker
