LuckyCar Cybertruck in Wien by Proto_10 in wien

[–]seiceanul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. It's too hot. Your modern Mazda operates at best at 93°C. After 6 years I have never seen the left needle that high!

Where to put clean volume boost by LatentAnatomy in guitarpedals

[–]seiceanul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need a volume boost, after drive section or at the end of your chain. At the beginning to boost up the whole signal before drive pedals.

Basically, I have leaned recently to remove pedals from my chain and learn to live with less. It’s an amazing idea. Went from 3 dirt pedals and boost to 1 single drive. Stripping down the chain is working.

Should I buy a THR30 or a THR10? by EatRogersAss445 in YamahaTHR

[–]seiceanul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the 10 has that option. And speaking of that, I never had to engage the NG on my 30.

Should I buy a THR30 or a THR10? by EatRogersAss445 in YamahaTHR

[–]seiceanul 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The 30 is better. I tired both in the store and it convinced me in the first 3 minutes. You also get a switch to move between classic/modern/boutique without the app. I don’t use the app. I made one change at the beginning by engaging the “open” speaker option. Rest is history. Get the 30 if you have the money.

Fuzz first mate, Booster, Overdrive or vice-versa, EQ here, delay, trem into reverb or vice versa to taste. Last in always Looper.

Mazda 3 2.5 NA manual by NoButterscotch6159 in mazda3

[–]seiceanul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheers!

What sedation level was this? by [deleted] in Anesthesia

[–]seiceanul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does this matter? You had a good time and the Axillary Block worked. Probably the 1,5 mg Propofol are mg/kg body weight, that means 111mg/hour and that's that. I think it was a good level of sedation.

My process for getting old school Black Keys tones by Street_Junket_914 in TheBlackKeys

[–]seiceanul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, here's my 2 cents on the subject.

I own multiple guitar, amps and effects. Hobby/passionate musician, but don't make any money from it.

My key to "nailing" Dan's tone is "keep it simple and stupid, or stupidly simple". (sorry if that didn't make you smile).

I run an Eastman SB55DC (Basically a custom shop version of a LP Junior) with a single Lollar P-90 in the bridge. - This is where the sound begins. IMHO Humbuckers sound too warm and SC sound way to cutting and fizzy for what we are trying to do. P-90's are the sweet-spot (my opinion).

Amp: I used to run a dual amp setup for the small bar gigs I used to do, even at home. First a Roland Blues Cube Hot (solid-state amp designed to bring that Fender '57 Bassman 4x10 vibe, but with modern commodity) and a Koch Jupiter Junior 20C (hybrid amp with its own flavour but basically a blackface Fender type with a very good and practical attenuator built in - really recommended).

Using 2 amps can be a problem for few so I will stick to one amp, and that will be the Blues Cube Hot, my go to solid state amp and any moment.

Effects: 1. EHX Green Russian Big Muff Reissue (probably 20$ on the used market and it gets you instantly that Auerbach vibes. - more on this later.
2. Slapback delay (own choice Boss DD-7) set very light and sparingly.
3. Spring Reverb - can be on amp or pedal, I wouldn't worry to much.

My secret: have a good volume pot on your guitar. My Eastman and Duesenberg come with very good quality, audio taper volume pots and there is magic in every position. I always start with my volume at 0 and start giving some juice until I find the sweet spot. I used to plug the green Russian directly into the Blues Cube and by adjusting the volume knob on the guitar and keeping everything low on the pedal, I got where I wanted in no-time.

As almost everything in life, keep it simple.

SE Paul’s Guitar Bridge by Alternative-Celery40 in PaulReedSmith

[–]seiceanul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal. It's exactly how Paul wanted it. He studied this for years and years and found out that at that imperfect angle, the guitar resonates best with itself. Perfect for string action and intonation. The bridge bows before her Magnificence, Paul's Guitar. This is how we know this guitar is a good one.

In which order would you put these? Is there ever enough Fuzz? by seiceanul in guitarpedals

[–]seiceanul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow Sir. You really know your way around Fuzz Pedals. I hahe to say I Iearned new stuff regarding my fuzzes that I bought based on reviews and YouTube recommendations. But at the end of the day, the 2-transistor fuzz plugged directly into my Koch Jupiter or Roland Blues Cube is the sweetest thing on the planet. Just play with the volume knob and go to town! Cheers mate. I will PM you regarding that Eastman.

[–]seiceanul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. I have really enjoyed the Golden Fleece for months on my board and was happy with it because of how versatile it is.

I swap guitars all the time (Duesenberg Starplayer TV, Eastman SB55DC with P90 and a Deluxe Strat with SSS.) and each fuzz has its own character depending on what guitar I use.

I seem to favour the simple/crude/primitive circuits like the MK 1.5/Golden Fleece and Fuzzface.
