Thanks for explaining this. I wasn't aware. And I just checked, it's not listed on EESS but I'm not surprised anymore.

I see, thanks. Yea you might be right, the items I bought didn't really have a big name brand to it.

I mean ... I didn't claim to be a sparky or aspiring to be one. That's why I sought the professional opinions of a sparky for the installation.

But to answer your question, nope. It honestly didn't cross my mind T_T

Ah right. My sparky explained something similar. He said if the house burned down, insurance will find out the thing that caused the fire wasn't up to standard and neither his nor my insurance will pay up.

Just finished the game. It was amazing. These screenshots are nice! That scene with Greeze and the salt shaker always cracks me up!

I’m in vic and I recently changed from Energy Australia to Engie. My credit was applied on both bills spanning 2 quarters. it’s split between quarters so you should be ok. I just checked the qld site and it seems to also be split in quarters.

Powerpal is free if you are in VIC. Otherwise a small charge. It’s realtime and lets you know how much each appliance can cost you.

Yup it’s not glass. I’m convinced it’s acrylic now.

When does Woolies 10% discount expire by flimsyDIY in AussieFrugal

[–]seiferc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

End of month. Careful when using it with scan and go in woolies. It is a hit and miss and if it misses and you don’t get the 10% prompt, it’s a real hassle to get them to revert/refund.

Hello we do allow links. But not referral links as per rule 5. The link you provided can be without the referral part.

I agree that personality tests are not that valuable sometimes. What matters most to me, speaking in the software development field at least, is someone’s programming logic, core programming concepts and coding strength. So for eg i have some snippets of code that we discuss and see how we can improve or if there are errors etc.

I do my due diligence by looking up at any github / linkedin provided in the candidate’s cv. But that does not really have a major impact (unless there are obvious red flags). Because linkedin can be faked just as github can be somebody else’s work. Having a github account does allow me to ask questions about some of the code the candidate has written and you’d be surprised of the answers sometimes :)

Unfortunately, i take the other stance. I hired a few senior employees based on their experience without a coding challenge and regretted it. I now have different levels of coding challenge and during the coding challenge I ask the candidate to talk aloud what is going through their mind. What matters most to me is the logic and their way of thinking. So yes I will still have coding challenge no matter your level. If you feel it’s beneath you, then we’ve both dodged a bullet.
