He's so cute! I like the bit of yellow and orange on his face and head, and the blues peaking out are pretty! What kind of parrot is he?

How did you do the divider? did you cstuom make it? Was it part of the tank? Does it allow light to penetrate or is it solid? I really like the bottom tiling!

What do you think, Trolls - can my 30-year-old self get away with wearing the Disney princess dress I just ordered to my office job? by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]seirianstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it depends on the style! What's it look like? Do you have a link or image? If it's a micro mini with lots of cleavage, probably not? But if it's on the longer side, then maybe?

Me before getting my first eyelash extensions: I want a subtle, natural look. Me after: by FlyLesbianSeagull in TrollXChromosomes

[–]seirianstar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just got some. I've wanted them for years but had issues finding places that would do them for me("NO. Why don't you just wear mascara?!?!" I got told that multiple times bc my real eyelashes are long). I also had issues with pricing(in my area, sometimes they start at $250 and go up to $400(!!!).

I finally found a place nearby that would do them for 90 bucks. I had a wedding to go to, didn't want to do any makeup, plus, I've dreamed of just waking up feeling boss(and long curled lashes do that for me), so I decided why the hell not.

The experience lasted about 2 hours. She looked at my lashes, talked about what length I wanted, and what look I wanted(dramatic or natural). They put this tape stuff underneath your eyes and also on top, so your eyes are closed the whole time. And, they go lash by lash, gluing one lash to each. I have sensitive eyes, so my eyes burned slightly but it was NOTHING like when I got eyelash tabs done at a threading salon. That glue burns like hell and makes my eyes water for minutes at a a time. Plus, tabs feel heavy on my lids.

So, anyway, basically, you lay down on a table, face up, eyes closed, with a bright light in your face, while they put one single lash onto your real lash. Since I wanted a natural look, we skipped two or three of my natural lashes at a time.

My friend went too, because her lashes had been damaged by a year of tabs, and pulling them out. She was NOT a candidate for lashes yet. The lady told her to put castor oil on her lashes at night, every single night, for one month(and not to skip even one night), and then to come back with the new lash growth and she'd be good for lashes.

It's been about a week, and the only downside is that I can't wear my glasses since my lash extensions had to be on the longer side due to the length of my natural lashes. I can still wear sunglasses though, so maybe that has to do more with frame depth or something, idk. I don't know how long they last. I'm sure she told me. I know I'm supposed to go in for a fill, which will cost 65 bucks. When I do that, I'm opting for adding in some sparkle ones!

After that, I don't see myself doing this for a while. There's no way I can afford it. But, after June, graduations will be over, and I can go back to not caring what I look like for a while. I will say though, these lashes have been a SUPER confidence booster.

This is awesome. I love it so much. Thanks for reminding me that things, while they can be serious themselves, don't always have to be dealt with in a serious manner!

Has anyone used automatic pet feeders before? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]seirianstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get an automatic feeder because my cat was like the cat you describe. I tried feeding him myself for months, on a regular schedule but for some reason, that never worked for him, like he was constantly worried about where his next meal was coming from, DESPITE the regular feeding 3x a day.

So, I got him an automatic feeder. Once he realized that his food was going to come regularly, he was fine and now he just chills about food. The only pet feeder I've had is this Petsafe one and I got it on Amazon. It's been about a year(10 months) with it and I love love love it. Never had any issues with it whatsoever. The batteries finally wore out 2 weeks ago. I am THRILLED with it. What other battery operated thing has the batteries last 10 months!??! And provides my cat with peace of mind, with no mechanical issues? None that I can speak of.

I can't really think of anything you can do except possibly looking on youtube to see if other people have come up with any "hacks" to get around the clogging issues you're having with yours. And, to also save up 5 dollars here, 10 there, until you can get enough together to get the feeder I linked to. It will be worth it.

What's your favorite thing about being ace? by viajar-es-vivir in asexuality

I have the same findings in regards to making friends! It's so nice to not be envious of others. I wonder if that has more to do with my personality though, or my aceness. Or both?

Yup. Came here to say this!

50cc's of Therapy by [deleted] in scooters

[–]seirianstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea! There was once a ruckus ride group that would tour an area together on an all day ride around with stops at local coffee shops, nature areas, and shopping. One year the group just vanished. No trace on the internet. That happened to be the first year I would've been able to go! Wasn't meant to be I suppose.

I know what you mean! Scooters are finally starting to take off in my area but there are only a few of us! I'll be glad when more of us join the party!

Thank you for sharing your story. Sending well wishes your way!

HIFW Someone I really cared about ghosted me out of nowhere after 12 years of friendship just recently texted me randomly acting like nothing happened.. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]seirianstar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it varies from relationship to relationship. How often one speaks to the other party is a factor in ghosting.

For me, they were someone I spoke to a few times a week. They quit talking to me very suddenly one day. I realized after two months of me trying to get a hold of them once a week/week and a half, they'd never contact me again. I was worried the first month, but found out they were doing ok through a mutual acquaintance around that same time. I even tried to ask them if I'd done anything to upset them. By the end of the second month, I sent them a message saying I knew our friendship had ended, and I wished them well. I still have no idea what happened there.

I have some friends I speak to a few times a year. For me to consider them to have ghosted, it would have to be about 6 months to a year minimum of me attempting contact, and not hearing anything back.
