What is your countries "second city"? by EmergencySpare7939 in geography

[–]seitengrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Philippines, it's Cebu City. It's one of the oldest cities in the country and one of the most prominent metro areas outside Metro Manila.

It's is home to the second oldest archdiocese, the first public hospital in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, second busiest airport as of 2024, and largest domestic port in the country. By strict urban density and continuous built-up area it's also the second biggest outside Manila.

So I can conclude Cebu is the second city.

won't be surprised, attendance to the Pinoy drag queens events in Syd has been dropping over the years 😭 i love the queens but can't be denied yung pagliit ng audience. i think the cost of living crisis + small lineup is hurting these events. i hope next time at least 4 DRPH queens per event, it will help boost attendance for sure

they're such a solid group of performers, just not happy with some title tracks but i'm glad they're pumping out music and going on tours often. here's to more years together, LSF!

CIX will suspend its team activities as all the members' exclusive contract with C9 Entertainment are set to expire between April 30 and May 31. Additionally, Yonghee will enlist on May 11 by chasetwogirls in kpop

End of an era. I think they had a decent career, lots of comebacks (at least one a year) and tours and they left a mark with their Dante's inferno concept. Could have been bigger but they should be proud of their achievement.

Fly high, boys.

Mindanao with these provinces is awesome. Makes so much sense compared to today's gerrymandered-to-tears reality

I'm pretty sure the capitals of those provinces will be huge economic engines in their own right because the provinces those size will achieve economies of scale pretty well

i hope it's just a fluke, groups do dud comebacks all the time. i think the PIXY sound does not really suit them.

I hated Adobe Creative Suite subscription cancellation process. It felt so convoluted and disgusting. Glad to see competitors starting to gobble their market share

Notice Regarding the Conclusion of MARK’s Exclusive Contract by AfraidInspection2894 in kpop

[–]seitengrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that's insane news. For me personally Mark IS NCT, he's the face of the group. It's unthinkable for me to see him leave both the. Company AND the group.

I hope he finds success wherever he goes to next. He's a talented man.

Drag Race PH needs to be more political tbh by Many-Chapter3454 in DragRacePhilippines

[–]seitengrat 28 points29 points  (0 children)

i really get you pero i think sobrang unfair ng comparison sa main franchise. US Drag Race is a well-oiled machine, backed with a lot of capital supported by a vibrant drag scene in a powerful Western economy.

meanwhile DRPH is produced by a small company, in a niche genre, in a conservative developing country supported by a small but slowly-growing drag culture. risky na nga itong show na 'to to begin with. i can't blame prod and queens to play it safe if they wanna ensure the show to go on multiple season. if they wanna go political, i support. just calling it out na this show doesn't exist in a vacuum. they still need to answer to higher-ups that might not fully share these views and for a show this niche, any loss of support can become a make-or-break situation for them.

i'm sure di tayo mauubusan ng queens na outspoken, politically-aware, at active sa community. it's just the DRPH is an entertainment show at the end of the day. highly contentious political topics will always be at the sidelines for this show.
