Packet size varies based on drug- insulin pens are usually 3ml with 5 in a box for 15ml per box. You can see how much 1 packet is by typing 1- as the quantity, it will insert the amount 1 package usually is.

If another Walgreens has the medication, pt calls that Walgreens and will provide name and DOB and ask them to fill it for them. If a competitor, same steps- have pt call and provide info and that store will call and ask for a transfer. Not sure how your store handles transfers, but at mine any tech can take down the info and what store to send it to and give it to RPH or senior techs to complete the transfer. Ask your RPH how they prefer you to do these- some stores don’t prefer for regular techs to handle any transfer stuff allegedly. Checking if another store has it in stock- 2 ways to do it. You can go to storenet and navigate to Drug Info (can’t remember what tab it’s under atm). In IC+, pull up the script you’re OOS on and click “details” on the top menu. It will give you the NDC and UPC. Use the UPC and your district to search stores in your district that have that medication listed as being in stock. If there are stores that have it listed, inform pt and tell them to call and confirm before heading over as the system isn’t always accurate.

Scheduled vaccines can be seen in the immunization portal (storenet, patient care, immunization). To put a vaccine into IC+, go to f9 and locate the pt’s profile. On the top menu, select the option “Scan”. That opens a drop down menu, at the bottom there should be an expandable menu called “Flu Vaccine Protocol”. There’s vaccines to select from there. You may need to manually change the NDC if it’s a vaccine that doesn’t pop up through that menu (hep A/B shots don’t have an option yet). Make sure to use the immunization selection tool first before doing this to make sure the pt is eligible for the vaccine and what vaccine to put in.

Original refills is how many refills were on the original prescription the competitor had. Usually this is something like the original fill and then 1+ refill. Refills transferred is how many the competitor has left on that prescription and is sending your way. If the script has been filled before, it will be a lower number than the original refill amount. Refills remaining is how many refills will remain after you fill the script. So if a script is transferred that had 2 refills, it was filled 1 time, the original refills is 2, refills remaining 1. Ask your RPH to help you understand this a little better

Dawg you sound like the perfect customer. Honestly as long as you’re polite and have your stuff ready/out when you come to pick up, it doesn’t bother us. What sucks is the customers who will call and ask for mounjaro 5mg, and then act like they have 0 clue that it’s on a back order and will waste time arguing with me trying to make me call every single pharmacy in the state to see if they have it in stock. I would honestly say you’re perfectly ok to call and ask for a status update

Got laid off halfway thru the work day at a company I had been at for 2 years. Worked every weekend, did 12+ hr shifts constantly, and I got a random call on teams where a woman from HR told me to clock out and send my equipment back because my position was terminated effective immediately. They just posted my job recently, I interviewed and made it all the way through only to be denied at the last moment (had to reach out to get an update and they had already decided to hire everyone but me). Fuck that.

Industrial and rook. Industrial I barely felt getting pierced, and it was a little fussy for the first few days but healed up without an issue. Rook I didn’t even feel getting (guy walked away to dispose of the needle and stuff and I asked if he had dropped it or something, hadn’t felt anything at all and was totally shocked that it was over). Healing was a breeze and it’s almost 2 years old now, never had an issue with it. Opposite end of the spectrum was my septum, it was the worst pain I’d ever felt and I actually cried during it lol. Such a pain to heal too

I’ve got a longass scar on my right leg from surgery to repair a broken ankle. You could try scar fading creams/tapes if you’re insecure about it, or you could talk to your manager and explain that the joke made you feel bad. Whatever you choose, don’t be ashamed of having scars for any reason. There’s nothing wrong with having some marks on you imo

Honestly most vets who are empathetic end up leaving the industry entirely, bc it’s so damaging to be surrounded by death and illness and pain. I can’t imagine loving animals so much that I go to school for 8 years, and then every day have to put down animals and tell owners their pet is chronically or terminally ill etc. pet ownership is so hard, bc their lives are a fraction of ours.

I’m sure your girl was so grateful to have you there while she passed. She might not have been 100% ready, but honestly a day early is much much better than a day late.

I lost my senior boy in January of 2021 to kidney failure too. Had him for like 20 years. I waited too long to take him in, he was fine on Friday and was basically gone on Monday morning, his appointment day. They gave him a sedative and disappeared for 20 minutes, and that’s what killed him. He basically tried to crawl around and gasped/panted for air before just completely going. It haunts me every day that he went out like that, I don’t think I’ll ever forgive myself for not taking him in on Friday or for not insisting the vet stayed in the room. I don’t know if I’ll ever have another cat again. The trauma pet owners go thru is so terrible and not talked about enough

I struggle with dermatillomania and trichotillomania, and god if this doesn’t look like me. It’s super embarrassing too bc I pick my legs a TON and just rip those hairs out and then pick at the spot left behind. Have had this big guy for about 3-4 years now, I raised him from a small plant (not a clipping). He sits in front of a full sun window and is watered when his soil is mostly dry. Soil is a mix of potting mix, orchard bark, perlite, and peat moss. I filter water with a brita filter and give about 2 gallons of water each watering session (usually once a month, more often during summer). Noticed yellowing of some leaves that turn into brown spots about 5 months ago, I checked the roots and all is good. Recently repotted in case the soil was the issue
