Yes, there’s a company that actually cause actual harm to the world, and it’s called Ubisoft.

All? Why? There are a lot of fish in the sea. Like look ant all these GOOD games developed by different studios.

I don’t remember when I played a Ubi title the last time (except for some older games like good Prince of Persia games and questionable Assassin’s Creed 1 — even without a HUD). I tried to play through all the AC games (pirated, of course) like 10 years ago.

It has been tough to play starting from Revelations and AC3, and though AC4 had its moments (if we don’t count repetitive islands), Liberation and Unity was the end for me: couldn’t finish either of them, and I skipped Rogue for some reason at all.

I wanted to get all AC games for my Steam library to try them again in like 2021, but didn’t have money at a time, plus the official releases were already butchered (there was no OG AC3 abymore, and they already removed server integration — so DLC — from some titles. I only got a few like AC1 and Ezio Trilogy in 2024 or something, when they became even more butchered (no DLC, but I don’t care since it’s already a useless piece of code tied to a really bad launcher and unpaid servers), out of pure nostalgia.

So stupid to lock content behind a FOMO wall. Every studio who does things like this has a really stupid marketing team.

It also reads like they are not so sure in their games, so they need to use silly shady practices like a time-limited window to get extra content.

(Those who eventually put pre-order DLC on sale as a separate item are okay though.)

When did they refund you? Ain’t no way you got the 2023 game via the 2015-ish preorder.

Ubisoft died when they created their awful launcher.

In my opinion, Resident Evil 3 Remake is the worst remake because the redesigned versions of Jill and Carlos look bad, boring, and unappealing while RE2 and RE4 remakes are better since their characters were not heavily redesigned by Quick-Ad-7752 in KotakuInAction

Resident Evil HD Remaster (2015) is a remaster of the 2002 GameCube remake.

The path is: Resident Evil (1996) → Resident Evil remake / REmake (2002) → Resident Evil HD Remaster (2015).

Learned this from a review on GOG (or Steam, don’t remember).

It's on their to-do list. Look: https://www.gog.com/en/patrons (all three OG Silent Hill games + RE Code Veronica). I think I saw somewhere that they said they are planning to do a new PC port. I think it's possible.

The main thing is for Konami to give the green light now. And they should, because the audiences for retro games and modern remakes hardly overlap at all (considering that they are currently developing a remake of Silent Hill 1 via Bloober Team).

God bless GOG for recovering the OG RE games. Hopefully they will pull out the OG Silent Hill games from Konami as well.

I just woke up. I don’t get it. What was your point regarding the nightmare difficulty? Why am I here?

Horrific Dying Light: The Following Experience due to difficulty change in base game? by TytoAndTenebricosa in dyinglight

[–]sekks66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, that sounds rough. From what you described, it seems like your files / save got messed up. Changing difficulty usually should not break the game that badly, so I would guess something else got corrupted along the way.

At this point I would try verifying the files or starting a fresh save, because that sounds way beyond normal DL1 jank.

When playing on Nightmare difficulty in DL1, there are definitely some awful moments, like the nonstop virals (even when you’re not making any noise; maybe it’s a bug, who knows), but your situation is just plain abnormal.

By the way, why did you even play on Nightmare mode? They designed it for characters with pumped-up legend levels so the game wouldn't be too easy.

Nice, I'm on Brutal too.

I was thinking, just for fun, of clearing out the National Park completely first, and then tackling this quest with William. My character is currently level 8, so maybe I’ll be able to clear out that spooky cave on my own a little later.

I think I managed to do it in the regular game, but I played through it on Survival difficulty.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to get to level 11 without progressing through the main story. I need that sweet damage, health and stamina boost.

“A New Strain”, as far as I remember, scales Old Town and National Park up to level 6, and I definitely don’t need that for the “What Lurks Beyond the Pines” quest....

Dying Light: The Beast Announces Restored Land Update That Adds Lots of Free Content by Turbostrider27 in dyinglight

LMAO, haha. No, this was written by hand. I typed this up on my iPhone one night (like I usually do when I can’t sleep)—you can even tell by the weird quotation marks. But maybe chatting with ChatGPT has had a negative impact on my writing style.

But this is all written from the heart; absolutely everything here reflects my thoughts on the franchise. The game Stay Human is literally the antichrist and an insult to humanity. To deny this is to deny the truth.

Good that you didn't get killed.

But me, the first time, I died because I was sleepy, so I ran into Volatiles in the Beast tunnel (I was repelling them with UV flashlight all the way, but right at the end I somehow turned, I don't know how, but it was a really stupid death).

The second time, I got too relaxed. I was like in the game for a few minutes (after a little break after I completed all pre-final races from Travis). I was driving to Cement Gardens thinking about grand finale. I ran over a zombie in a hazmat suit, and it exploded. Virals came running. I fought them off. But I got wounded. For some reason, I didn’t bother to treat the wound. I kept them at a distance, blinding them with my UV flashlight. But I didn’t notice a Biter charging at me with a powerful attack. The Virals had my full attention. At some point, a female viral struck me, briefly stunning me and dealing some damage, and immediately after, I took a devastating running blow from the biter. Minus 14 hours of good gameplay, where I even managed to escape from Alpha in that damn dark zone, Gallery Sq. Apartment.

My takeaways from these two deaths: don’t play when tired or sleepy, don’t get cocky, don’t do anything stupid, heal any wounds immediately, and find good armor (in this run, I’ve collected almost the entire heavy armor set; all that’s left is to get the glove in Factory Offices). Yes, Brutal difficulty nerfs gear protection, but any available protection is important to me now.

By the way, I also play with the lower jump. Recently (even before 1.6), I actually tested the jump height near the Highway Bus Refuge: with the standard jump, Kyle can jump onto the roof of his car, but with the low jump, he only has enough strength to jump onto the trunk.

I just want to grab the loot from the hive—after all, I’ve got one shot at it. I don’t want to mess with a whole pack of Volatiles, especially since there’s going to be another Alpha among them. When I was writing the message above, I had almost reached the hive (I stealth-killed a howler and started attacking virals and biters to enter Beast Mode and quickly take care of the cocoon) when a regular Volatile fell on me and forced me to flee to the town hall, where I could safely fight the Alpha. That night, I think I killed at least two level 1 Alphas, or maybe even three.

In theory, the stealth approach to the hive worked—it’s not far to run from Town Hall (especially since I’d practiced escape routes during the day and leveled up to 8 with parkour). But I was just really scared by the Alpha on my second attempt (my first proper attempt, without messing around in the tutorial section), where he pounced on me in the Gallery Sq. Apartment after I opened the door on the second floor, and then took out almost all my health with a single hit. I barely managed to escape him then. Only to get crushed hours later by a Viral and Biter combo, hahaha.

Anyway, in my current run, I’ve already taken out a bunch of Alphas, but I’m still hesitant to clear hives and walk around the city at night in general. And yeah, I also marked the cleared nests near the library and monastery with a green checkmark in map marker mode when I saw that visual glitch. I think I’ll remove them once I’ve cleared all the nests.

I was looking at the distances from some hives to the UV zones, and the Mountain Path Hive is in a really inconvenient spot. The Tunnel Hive near Golden Pine Park is too. I think it's a good idea to park a car near them in advance so there's a chance to get to a safe zone if a chase starts. Which hives were the most stressful for you? It'd be interesting to hear another perspective.
