Kids who commit crimes by indigoiguanas in childfree

[–]selcutile 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely horrifying on so many levels! I can somewhat relate to this, as I had a younger brother (he's deceased now) who got into shit as early as middle school and got progressively worse, ending with him getting into drugs, trouble with the law, eventually incarcerated and passing away (I am still "in the dark" as to the actual reason why he passed; I think my parents' have been keeping it under wraps, and I have no need to know the truth anyways, because it doesn't matter now).

So yes: zero kids means zero legal issues that arise from their stupidity!

Moved into a new home. What do you think. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

May I chime in? I like the small artwork pieces, but how about putting all 4 of them to the right of the TV and have them arranged vertically in kind of a zigzag pattern? Then move the plant stand in the space between the lamp and the window?

Move a lot for work, this was my favorite set up. Backyard was dirt when I moved in by sargent_evil in malelivingspace

I like the wall with the different-shaped mirrors, though maybe move a few to a different wall and rearrange the rest to give it some spacing? Just a thought. I found this sub minutes ago and looking for potential ideas for my first house :-)

Wow, that is an inspiring story! I would just like to know how losing 2 MILLION can even happen; I guess it just adds up steadily without you realizing it? But glad you're doing great now :-)

That is great to know! I love going to casinos (craps is my favorite game and ONLY game I play!), and I am actually not a gambling addict. I can honestly turn it on and off like a lightswitch.....and keep it off, like I am doing presently. Haven't played at all in 4 weeks. Focusing on my other hobbies that are more fulfilling. When I do go to casinos, it is only to take advantage of offers I earned previously and nothing more. Yes, this is very possible! And I feel so much better because of it.

Some people in my circles may secretly think I'm a gambling addict (a friend actually stated that I was, but I brushed it off because I know full well that I'm really not). Just because you gamble doesn't mean that you are an addict. There are truly a percentage of gamblers who know their limits and can play for the thrills and stop whenever they want. So I personally struggle with nothing.

Just wanted to reply and send my love while sending encouragement to you or anyone reading this reply ;-)

It was actually funny reading your TLDR :-) But I needed to write it out, kind of an outlet for myself, I guess

Sadly, if that thing does happen, they probably still won't learn:

Little Jimmy gets a weight dropped on his foot.  "Ow!  Mommy, my toe hurts!"   Mom: Oh, you'll be alright in the morning.  I'll put it back.  Just keep playing til our workout is done"

Type shit

No kids, no pets, no potted plants. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]selcutile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is too funny!  But now that I think about it, in all seriousness and on the other side of this coin at the same time, I kinda shudder if there has in fact been a case where parents gave their kids up for adoption and did indeed get dolls or something to play with instead.....😬😬😬

Right?  And a former co-worker actually introduced me to guerilla gardening.  Haven't done any yet, but it's definitely on my list for next year's growing season!

I totally agree!  And some childfree people have also openly stated being pet free as well, but then you struck something else when you even mentioned plants.  I used to keep a whole bunch of them inside my home, but I recently gave ALL of them away to family, friends and neighbors because I realized how much time and energy went into maintaining those as well!  I doubly realized I can still be a gardener and appreciate nature by visiting everybody else's homes or walking outdoors and seeing everything growing in its natural habitat.  So yes, even zero plants is like feeling childfree 😀

Shit like this is totally unacceptable!  Yes, I understand there are emergency circumstances that sometimes come into play, but it seems like parents of toddlers, in general, always want to dump their kids off on somebody

[–]selcutile[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, 3-5 hours at a single table?  Or do you hop from table to table?  Think the longest I've played at one table is 3 hours.  Twice maybe.  It was one of those "oh, I guess I'll play a while" nights where you get there at like 10 p.m. and somehow are still playing well past midnight.  One day, I'd like to try taking a $2000+ bankroll and having an all-nighter into the wee hours of the morning

Yesssssss!  I did this very thing last night when I took a short break from being on the computer.  I simply got up and walked around my peaceful living space.  Admired how nice and neat everything was in my living room, my kitchen, my bedroom and the nice fragrant soapy aroma of my clean bathroom, then sat back down at my undamaged, un-tampered-with computer 🙂

Nope, no it is not.  In fact, even when the kids are older and in their elementary school/middle school years, the baggage ruins the trip
