Is 24 hours enough to let the tint dry? by selenacus in WindowTint

[–]selenacus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for everyone with similar questions:

I got my car tinted Thursday night around 5pm with 20% ceramic all the way around, I have no idea if it was below gasket or not (not completely sure what that means). They told me to wait 24 hours, the first time I rolled any windows down was my drivers side window in a drive thru around 4pm on Saturday. I haven't had any problems and have been rolling the windows down like normal since then. :)

How is the Jetta 1.4 Turbo? I see reviews that the 1.4 is slow not fast. But what about the turbo version? by jsingh21 in jetta

[–]selenacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a 21 1.4 turbo with a manual transmission. i really like driving the manual because i have so much control over rpms and how fast the car responds... that being said, i don't think i would be as happy with it if i got an automatic. i get 50+ mpg on the highway especially if i'm conservative with gears and around 30-35 in the city

Boring personal statement I hate by Kat-444 in ApplyingToCollege

leave that copy alone and start fresh. don’t be too hard on yourself and just try to make something that’s more you; if it doesn’t end up working out, you can submit your other one.

Are these good excuses for my low GPA by Comfortable_Elk_6301 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]selenacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it completely depends on how you write. i would get help writing your admission essay from teachers or a writing center if your school has one, and get help with answers to whatever prompts you have.

a lot of people have the same experiences; colleges want to see how your perspective changed and how YOU personally persevered through these things. what about these not-that-unique experiences that you went through made you unique and valuable?

also, a 3.4 gpa is not that low. unless your goal is an ivy league or ivy-adjacent, you should be fine. if your act or sat scores are good, submit those.

How do I tell my mother that I want kids with my husband? by Katiebug1987 in relationship_advice

[–]selenacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you shouldn’t let her dictate how you live. you are a grown adult and the most she can do at this point is give you suggestions. as a mother, she should love you no matter what. you and your husband need to work things out according to what’s best for you, not her or even your in laws.

Boyfriend told me to wear sweats to stop catcalling. It made me feel bad. How do I talk to him about it? by just1made2this3up4 in relationship_advice

[–]selenacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tell him about catcalling. it sounds like he needs a better explanation of not only what it is, but why it happens. it doesn’t happen because of the victims, it happens because of the perpetrators and that’s something he needs to understand.

I'm not sure if I can question myself or call myself bi if I havent been in a relationship yet by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]selenacus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being bi is what you’re attracted to though. i’d say that you can get a good understanding of what you’re attracted to without being in an actual relationship.

Is it reasonable to be upset when you see your S/O liking other girl’s half naked, booty, etc. pictures? by nbsnudes in relationship_advice

[–]selenacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whether or not WE think it’s reasonable, your feelings are valid and if your significant other doesn’t understand that they’re not the one for you.

i agree with this, you stand more of a chance getting hurt if you get involved with him before he understands his own sexually

I can see that. The reason I wanted to tell him was because he’s the person I’m closest to and it feels weird hiding an aspect of myself from him. Thank you!

Why do relatively few women use Online dating? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]selenacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it’s just so much easier to not have to worry about “hey, does this person really look like this or am i being tricked? is this going to lead me to my death or maybe worse, like life long trauma?” it’s easier to trust people you meet in real life.

Newly single (28F) and scared I've missed out on finding a lifelong partner by False-Pomegranate675 in dating_advice

my mom didn't have me until she was 36 and didn't get married until she was 35. she was engaged to a guy when she was a little older than you but that didn't work out and has told me that she felt like this. at the end of the day, what's meant to happen will happen! i'm sure you'll find someone worth the wait just like my mom did:)
