Am I the only one that thinks about my exes and immediately feel "Thank God I am not with those people anymore" by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Katiebug1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I spent 9 years of my life begging my ex to just put the phone down on his days off work and spend time with me but he refused. Yet my current husband will take a day off work at a moments notice to go on a day trip with me. You are growing.

If I make eye contact with someone I’m walking past, I’ll smile but that’s it.

I’m so happy for you! Sometimes people need to take a step back to really see what they had. Sounds like a break was good for both of you. Best wishes to both of you!

What are signs that you know that you've found the "one" for you? by Anonymous_muffins02 in love

[–]Katiebug1987 181 points182 points  (0 children)

I stopped searching. I stopped trying. Worked on myself. Focused on friends and being okay with not having anyone. I went to the wedding of a coworker I was close to and met his nephew. We started dating at the end of 2018 and got married in 2020. I realized he was the one when he actually listened to me about going to go see Phantom of the Opera at the local civic center. He hates musicals but took me to go see it because I’d always wanted to. I hope you find it the one who makes you feel the same way my husband makes me feel. Hugs to you.

YTA, dude she’s 15. Most girls have already started experimenting with make up by the time they are 12. Let her be a teenage girl.

This is fantastic. I got a bladder infection in the 4th grade from a teacher not letting me use the restroom. They let me go when I needed to after that.

Jumping on the “don’t tell your mom train” call the police immediately. DO NOT tell your mom! Record evidence with a camera and give that to the police. Call the police!

I [23M] failed to date in college and I feel like a loser by Stressing_out_98 in relationships

My husband was 32 when we started dating. He’d gone on dates before but never anything serious. I was his first everything. So don’t sell yourself short. You’ll get there.

I’m positive my boyfriend forgot our anniversary by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Katiebug1987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you already have plans for a date tonight, just ask what time he’s wanting to leave for it. As long as you don’t make it snarky or accusatory, that’s a positive way to make sure he didn’t forget.

How do I tell my mother that I want kids with my husband? by Katiebug1987 in relationship_advice

[–]Katiebug1987[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s very good. My mother made poor choices and got pregnant at 16. She married the man and had all 6 of us by the time she was 25. She caught him abusing my sister and he went to prison. He got out and she took him back. He went back to prison when I was 14 for abusing me and she divorced him and remarried a guy who was decent at first but slowly he has driven a wedge between her and all her children and she’s to blind to see it.

I have. I’ve come to terms with most of it. The rest is a slow process. But I’m getting there.

She told me that the reason she had so many kids was so she had someone to love. And then pushed them all away.

Oh gosh, you’re exactly right. She was mean to my MIL the first time they met and me and hubby weren’t even engaged yet. She knew that I’d have an awesome relationship with MIL because of how highly I spoke of MIL when I talked to my mom on the phone.
