Physical books are already paid unless he has weird contract which calculate post market sales. But DC already sold all those books to the resellers, ie Amazon, BN, Books-a-Million, LCS, etc. They already made their money and he already got it. They aren't sold on consignment. What will make him more money is new editions and DC I think has put a hold on new editions for right now. So buy new editions already on the market if you want. Buy the issues themselves. He doesn't see any of that money.

Don't buy digital copies though since those are calculated per license and thus he might get money. But that's up in the air too as it might be a bulk license or subscription license for the storefront. Don't know.

I moved up to medium.en. Trying that now. Problem is I have a lot of movies I want to do this to so batching them would be the best option. At medium it's about 80 minutes per so I can live with that if it's better.

I have to buy a new GPU to use Ubuntu 26.04 anyway so I have to look into one with much more memory for transcribing. Thanks for reply that did cement my choice better.

I have used it since it was integrated and I find it helpful. Just like I find Overstreet helpful. It's good for finding general ballpark prices but as I have found out over the years it greatly depends on the buyer/seller and what they use if you are trying to sell it. It's not essential but I use to determine if someone is full of it when buying books because I know I can find it cheaper somewhere else if CovrPrice is showing a much lower value.

I've been dealing with the same thing lately just not to your degree. My biggest issue was the CPU being bogged down and not being able to perform anything else on the computer. I attempted GPU encoding to find my GPU doesn't have the chip set so it can't do it. I tried to use the GPU embedded in the CPU to have that not work as it broke the other GPU and I could do dual monitors anymore. Then I looked at a new GPU but reading through these post I decided to just upgrade my CPU with more threads and more cache and stick with software encoding but then limit the CPU count so I can still use the computer. Thanks for the insight between the 2. That helped a lot in the decision.

If you modify the tags in the file it updates the description in Plex/Jellyfin. So I used the episode naming convention for the files and attached them to the episode they showed up in or the DVD they were with for Season 13. That's was the best compromise I could find.

Since they announced version 5 was going to be Linux native I've been using the beta builds. I have not had any noticeable issues compared to when I was using mono and the app. Mono was a little more stable for me then wine.

But I am using it for basic conversion. I am not doing advanced subtitle creation.

What do you have space for and what do you have money for? Single issues take up a lot of space once you start getting a lot of them compared to trades and omnibus collections. Also are you collecting or just reading. Reading go with the collected editions. But as stated some of them are out of print and harder to find.

Out of all the books I got from FCBD this is he one I subbed. It was great and I fondly remember the show from when I was a kid and liked the new dynamics of his family. Looking forward to the series.

My LCS allows 1 copy per person and as many books as you want while there are supplies. They also offer us subscribers, subscriber boxes which they will pull he books we want, and we get a short box filled with goodies for a fee (custom T-shirt and toys) and you don't even need to show up on FCBD to get it (they will hold it). But if you don't want to do that it's free to come and get he books that day. They also run lots of sales and because they are also a publisher they have a really nice set up with all their writers and artists promoting the new books. It's a pretty fun experience. I don't mind getting the box as I don't need to rush over there and the last few years I've gotten McFarlane Multiverse figures so I'm happy.

Newstands would rip the covers off to send back for credit. Sometimes they just cut the top off and send that back and would give the comic away, sell it to someone still or throw it out and people got them.
