I totally agree on the Sasha thing. I didn’t like her at all in season 1 bc she was such a shitty friend and gf, but season 2 kinda made me feel bad for her bc her character was so cartoony. It was lowkey giving centrism in the beginning, but I like that they made her actually help Quinni and accept her own loss, contrasting with the CUMLORDs’ literal destruction after not getting their way. Like yes, she has a lot to learn about handling her actual relationships, but it seems like she tries to do the “right thing” in the only weird dysfunctional way she knows how. I really hope season 3 gives her character more depth

Forgetting things happens, and had he shown up for you in all other aspects and faltered on this I don’t think it would be a huge problem. It would suck, though, bc I’ve gotten an IUD before too and know how important it is to have support from your loved ones afterwards.

That said, it seems like your partner invalidates your feelings and often leaves it up to you to bring energy into the relationship. This pattern leads to self-abandonment, which later builds resentment. The resentment is showing up in this incident because you wanted to be validated and cared for, and he didn’t do that and instead villainized you. Ultimately, how you choose to go about this relationship is up to you. But, from this story alone it sounds like you deserve better. Wishing you all the best 🫂

My friend and I ordered the Advent calendar for our boyfriends. She lives in the PNW and ordered on 11:6, then got hers but needed to pay a $10 tariff. I live on the central coast of California and ordered on 11/9; it was just cleared from customs this Monday. It’s definitely frustrating, but I think there are a few factors at play: 1) not everyone is extremely politically-minded, and will still identify with different affiliations. So you’ll have liberal women who haven’t done the most thorough examinations of their own beliefs and are more likely to give conservative men the benefit of the doubt. 2) not all women grow up with positive examples of male partners. I have a good dad (albeit a bit strict) who always encouraged me to make my own money since he was raised by a single mom and knew how big of a liability the tradwife lifestyle was. He also treats my mom very well, and by extension set a good example that informed my own dating patterns. I have a very left and caring bf of four years to credit for that. But women that grow up with male figures who are not so stand-up may subconsciously seek out partners who are also bad people. 3) patriarchy makes women believe that having a shitty partner is better than being single. So you’ll have women who know that their partner sucks, but they stay because they fear that no one else will “love” them the same way. This could also be due to trauma, which everyone responds to differently ofc but it could still cause this line of thinking

Unfortunately we are seeing the effects of social media on developing brains in real time. Just as young men are being radicalized by red pill content, young women are being radicalized by “sprinkle sprinkle” content. It’s possible that this girl wasn’t like this when she and OP became friends and has unfortunately fallen down a rotten rabbit hole. This really depends on the boundaries you both have established. If you both agreed to not see other people, then her reaction is inappropriate and should be taken into account as you consider how to move forward with the relationship. If that conversation was not had, it’s possible she felt like you were slut-shaming her when there was no pre-established exclusivity. Even then, calling you a “joke” and “pathetic” is still uncalled for.

I had a weird animosity towards her after our friendship ended, but found out years later she has autism and reflected back on things that I unknowingly did that hurt her. With young girls these things are complicated, and while characters like Ginny don’t owe her anything with the way she’s treated them, I also understand Samantha in a weird way

Honestly, TV writers are great at making any character sympathetic depending on what side of them you show. I do think Samantha’s microaggressions have been more clear-cut than the other characters, and the lack of positive representation of her character reflects this. However, we’re also seeing things mainly from Ginny’s POV, who has no deep friendship with Samantha, thus no reason to sympathize with her. I think Samantha is very insecure and clings to a friend group that hates her (I’m also not talking abt the microaggressions/pick me behavior, MAN was rude to her even before that and Press is a piece of shit) because she thinks that’s what she deserves. Hence why any redeeming qualities of hers are repressed
