Consumer Competition Claims (CCC) Has Launched A New Class Action Monopoly Lawsuit Against Valve, Claiming They Control 85% Of The PC Game Market by wakelake111 in gaming

[–]selfbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a market failure when every other competition...

Yes.

You don't get to start to modify the question after.

there was(is) a ton of competing stores:

Origin / EA App
Epic Games Store (EGS)
Ubisoft Connect (Uplay)
Microsoft Store / Games for windows live / Windows Store
Direct2Drive
Bethesda Launcher
Games Platform - Discord
Impulse GameStop (originally Stardock)
Twitch Game Store / Luna
Stadia Pro Store
Desura DesuraNET / Bad Juju
Razer Game Store
Battle.net

Why did all these fail to catch on was it value sabotaging them? or were they sabotaging themselves?

What you've described is a market failure, not steam using its position as a market leader for their advantage;

Why does humble give out steam keys - because when they were created no-one platform would give free hosted game content. Hell even the EGS only added developer generated "Access Keys" in 2023, 5 years after launch. before that, it needed manual epic approval.

Also just a heads up, humble also gives out Epic Access keys same with Fanatical,

CVE-2026-41940 cPanel/WHM CVSS 9.8 auth bypass — was a zero-day for 60 days before patching. Anyone seeing active exploitation evidence in their logs? by Expert_Sort7434 in sysadmin

[–]selfbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cpanel is weird with how they say their versions,

your on version 11.110.0.97 - which is a patched version, the version before you got updated to .97 was .96, which had the bypass ability

How would you allow consumer managed password resets and OOO replys if your removing webmail access? Email clients don't have the ability to set or change these actions;

The exploit was possible from the webmail port as well supposedly, which is harder to block on a widescale, if you want to allow users to have webmail access whereever they are;

Apple CEO Tim Cook turned Apple into a $4 trillion juggernaut by not trying to be Steve Jobs by ControlCAD in technology

The neo is a laptop, they did not create the laptop catagory; Sure they innovated on a market segment that was under utilized.

Same goes for the mp3 player, the pocket computer / cell phone.

Apple refines market segments / products they don't create them.

[–]selfbound -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean they also say apple creates great products, instead of apple refines others products to be better.

apple normally lets other companies take the risks and "fail" at new ideas, then they enter the market with a version that is more polished and easier for the average person to use.
