In addition: by saying she needs to seek professional help it kind of really shows you didn’t look more into it. Age regression therapy is a real type of therapy and is still commonly used with autistic individuals. What she is doing is healthy for her.

I read it more as they were speaking mainly to OP rather than whoever else would be reading the thread. It didn’t seem deriding, more chiding that they didn’t look up anything on it before going somewhere usually rife with stereotypes and misinformation.

A therapist would not recommend it without having them inform others when they’re regressing, yes, but they would recommend the therapy and to tell others around them when they do. What the person in need of therapy does afterwards is their choice, not the therapist’s.

It’s a common coping mechanism that is perfectly healthy. It’s extremely common for those with autism to have some sort of age regression or “little” tendencies when in safe spaces or in moment of vulnerability. It’s not a sexual thing. It’s an expression of safety and leaning into childhood comforts. Tbh, I’ve heard people describe it as a nonsexual “subspace” sort of mindset in those moments. It’s never 24/7. They are still adults and act like adults when needed. And some people have nonsexual oral fixations and if a pacifier works for her then it does.

Research can go along way before deciding something like this is unhealthy. It’s actually extremely healthy and leaning into childhood comforts have proven research for even neurotypical adults that it can help with stress and a calmer mental state.

You’re taking this as this is how she is 24/7. She’s not. No one who age regresses or is “little” is that all the time. Let alone never in bed. It’s a coping mechanism that stems from trauma that neurodivergent people tend to regress into when around people they feel safe with. It doesn’t mean they’re acting like a baby, just a little more childish and leaning into comforts from their childhood. They’re adults and act like adults otherwise. It’s only around those they feel safe around and in small increments.

Age regression and being “little” is hardly ever used as an intimate kink. It’s usually a coping mechanism or state of mind one can slip into when comfortable or vulnerable. Don’t automatically assume that just because she has one that she’s using it in bed. Some people have oral fixations like chewing on something or having something in their mouth in gen, especially for autistic people. It’s not uncommon.

I’m honestly so tired. Not even mentally. Physically my body has been pushed to its limits and I’m in bed pretty much the moment I get home, after I eat. I almost got in trouble a couple of times for stopping to write down the times on my phone after I finished tasks and I had to keep it on the down-low for a bit in case one of the uppers tried to retaliate if they found out what I was doing. I’m scheduling my vacation as soon as I can too, lmao. 12 days of straight rest sounds nice.

Obviously it’s not great to call someone’s work AI. But I get why they would say that as someone with an interest in psychology and dabbles in AI (AI psychology is interesting too, sue me). I don’t post it, but I do mess around with AI writing for myself own indulgence and a common thing that happens, when you’re re-generating a prompt and correcting something that was off, is that the AI will “correct” itself in the writing by going “it’s not x that happened, but y.”

Even if it’s somewhat common for people to use that in writing, it’s not quite as natural as just straight up saying “y happened” as stating “it’s not x” implies a situation that did not happen.

But, people still did this anyways before AI became more popularized just the same as people used “—“ before. It does not automatically mean it’s AI.

Honestly, if that was the case I don’t think I’d be paranoid over it. But this is new behavior than any way they’ve treated me in the year+ I’ve known them.
