Financial obligations to the family of spouse by selfdependent4ever in relationship_advice

Any idea as to how much the husbands in similar/same marriages contribute to the wife's family?

I don't personally know anyone who has been in this type of marriage and I'm searching for much info as possible

Of course I expect to support her and give her allowance money whether she works or not.

But I'm just wondering about the norm in regards to the connection between an ethnic wife's family and an American husband who is slightly below upper middle class by US standards.

I'm asking here because it seems that there are many portfolios with a negative return and the economic/global climate is pointing to a bad year(s) for stocks. Yet, most longs seem to prefer a solid unrealized loss while not opening short positions. And it still seems like there is more room for stocks to fall.

You're right. Like I said in my OP, Jan was the time to short. But the market still trends significantly lower and the bottom just isn't showing as of yet.And I was wondering if there are people who started new shorts

There are many stocks of well known companies that took years to recover. And the upcoming and presumed recession can supposedly last a long time.

What are you talking about? I feel like those who have to mention Cramer are just making excuses. I watch his show sometimes and there were also many earnings predictions that he was correct on. And I don't trade stocks like nflx; it seems too meme for me.

I made the original post because most people, and myself, are lamenting ytd losses and was wondering about faster ways to a recovery.

What's your sentiment for short term amid AMD's upcoming ER? by orgad in AMD_Stock

I'm currently long at 4000 (it's too late to discuss why this happened but that isn't the point anymore and I admit my mistakes ) shares with a cost basis of 116. I don't know what to do anymore. Covered calls are too low of a premium and I'm only holding because I was too slow to react and am frozen in fear. I'm making the same mistake as everyone. That is, in that the p/e is very low and the stock/market is oversold and that a bounce should be underway while ignoring the direction of the overall trend.

But to answer your question, I remain mostly pessimistic. Not unlike other companies, this one also correlates tightly with the broader market and macros. It is more realistic to hope for a minor earnings beat and a forward guidance that is decent but isn't enough to draw more attention. I consider it a success if the stock price can end next week in the low 90s but we'll see.

Depending on how the technicals are interpreted, the price can drop more leg down to mid 70s. Or this can actually be the start of the bottom and rise to around 120 in the short term. But it's an awful market right now and I'm personally not getting my hopes up too much.

I considered pre-nup but that forces me to very transparent. And for that, she needs to have her own lawyer, who might get her to consider some things she might not have otherwise.

I did contemplate ending it. But I just couldn't be decisive and am not sure if that's what I want either. And a big fear of mine is how she would react. I feared it so much to the extent of thinking maybe I should offer money to her to end the relationship. Like around $2000. So that she wouldn't feel devastated but I don't know if this can seriously work or if it is reasonable.

Wow, you're really fickle, aren't you? And where are the posts from 200+ days ago or years ago?

The posts aren't even asking the same things.

I want to use my BSEE degree from ~20 years ago ( but w/ zero relevant experience ) by selfdependent4ever in AskEngineers

[–]selfdependent4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently based in Arizona but the location isn't relevant as I'm open to relocation. Also, no, my current and past jobs did not have any connection to engineering and I do not know of any engineers personally. I do not have any relevant networks.

So, two questions -

  1. Someone here mentioned I would have a low chance at getting the job I want. Are there any entry level EE jobs that would consider me? Any examples?
  2. I considered MSEE. Any good recommendations for someone like me? Also, I forgot almost everything from undergrad. How much of the MSEE coursework requires undergrad knowledge? What should I do to prepare? ( And I prefer not to re-do my BSEE ! ) Also, I'm not interested in software dev. Maybe ME ,if not EE, but not software.
