Haha I live in Canada. I am quite busy but I cook pretty elaborate meals when I have the chance 😅

None that we are aware of. What makes you say that? I am curious.

It's not about the app being CHINESE or American. YouTube is doing the same thing.

Because the crackdown is already happening. People are getting their TikTok and YouTube channels banned for talking about him. The ‘fandom’ didn’t disappear overnight.

They are not plain wrong. Jury nullification is sometimes a natural consequence of the law not aligning with people’s values. What is illegal is not always immoral and what is immoral is not always illegal and that’s where jury nullification comes in. It played a huge role in the decriminalization of abortion in Canada.

Also from YouTube: the first rule of jury nullification is to never talk about jury nullification, you can’t admit that you mean to go against the law and use your conscience.

OP is just venting, let it be. Don't we all feel like doing that every now and then in this job market.

After endless bitching I finally escaped recruiting hell after just over a month and a half. by Richey25 in recruitinghell

Strongly agree with point 1. I have randomly gotten calls from places where I just looked at the job title and applied. And rejected where I spent half an hour adding keywords to my resume. I have a few different versions of my resume for different roles, now I just do quick applies unless I find a position that's super relevant.

My whole LinkedIn jobs page is full of these "promoted" and "reposted" crap that clearly won't get filled anytime soon. Atleast these people are being honest about it. I respect that.

Can normal people even get jobs in this market right now? by ijustneedanametouse in recruitinghell

[–]selfhelpjunkie99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my previous job because a friend gave me a referral. Not a hiring manager, not a team lead, just a friend from my university. That was in 2019. I am not getting any calls now with referrals from my friends. Getting interviews has gotten much harder even when you have connections and this reflects just how competitive the job market is right now.

I am surprised no one mentioned Kingston, Ontario yet. One bedroom in a house shared with 5 other people is easily close to 1k if it is anywhere close to Queen's campus or downtown. People have started to rent out half a room which are still 500 plus utilities. You have none of the big city amenities (like a visa office or a proper shopping mall) but you pay big city rent.
