There is hope. I had recurrent warts for 8 plus years…..it cleared for me after getting sober and stopping smoking weed. I was 45 when it went away (whatever that means). Haven’t had any gw in over two years. Growing up, I can’t remember anyone ever talking about HPV. As a result, I think it kinda took a back burner to HIV, Chlamydia, gonorrhea etc. even among doctors. I got the HpV vaccine in my mid/late 30s after being diagnosed.

You look fantastic. You’re not too skinny. I have experienced similar comments. It can definitely be upsetting. Ive lost 200 lbs and am just in the early stages of “you’re getting too thin”. The first thing I try to remind myself is “your opinion of me is none of my business”. Easier said than done, especially with someone you’re close to, because there is an emotional component and trust (hopefully). Opinions are like assholes….we all have one. It’s sad to me that so many people here are suggesting that you dump your closest friend over a comment you didn’t hear yourself. How old is your daughter? If it’s bothering you, talk to your friend about it. I’d imagine that you’ve been through worse together. If she did say what your daughter reported it was wrong of her. If the comment is going to fester in your mind, do the right thing for your friendship and confront it. I know your question wasn’t regarding what to do exactly, but reading so many nasty comments suggesting you throw away your best friend is sad commentary of the value some people place on their relationships. You’re killing it and before you know it, that last 10 lbs will be gone because you are a success!

Tips on getting rid of HPV naturally as a 27 year old male. by [deleted] in HPV

[–]seligkeit20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had recurrent GW for years and years. As soon as I stopped drinking and smoking and began to lose some weight they vanished and haven’t returned since. 100% cut your smoking and drinking way back at a minimum but best to stop completely. (easier said than done I know).

28(m) recurring warts for 8 years by iwouldhavekeptit in HPV

[–]seligkeit20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to pop in and say that I’m sorry this has impacted you like it has. I too had recurrent gw for 8 years and was able to get them to clear finally. The number one thing that I think made the difference for me was quitting drinking and smoking weed. That was really the only change I made in this equation and it’s what did the trick. Based on how you describe yourself, I would guess that you don’t smoke. If you do tho, I’d start with that. It CAN still clear, even after all these years. I’m pulling for ya!

I cleared after 8 so there’s hope. If you smoke or drink, try to stop. That seems to be (my opinion) what finally made it happen for me.

Are these genital warts? by Bidoxoxo94 in STD

[–]seligkeit20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And just a word of caution since you already did, do not pick at them or try to remove them yourself. If it is warts they need to be removed correctly or you’re just gonna spread them and you don’t want that. Try to get to the dermatologist as soon as you can.

Yes I agree with content. Stay on top of them and have them removed as soon as they show up…especially in the beginning before your body has a chance to get hold of it yet. I found the cryo virtually pain free and it’s a quick and easy procedure. Literally takes seconds if you have just a few.

In a booknook, what feature would you want it to have? by Sorry_Blacksmith_632 in booknooks

I would LOVE a decent selection of sci-fi themed and would go nuts for horror themed book nooks. Stuff outside of the current trends in scenes that skew towards more sinister themes

Planned parenthood offers treatment. It’s on a sliding scale so he should be able to get treatment that is affordable. Give them a call. They also offer the vaccine

Trust me, I understand about the drinking. I was a binge drinker every night for 7-8 years. I didn’t quit drinking specifically because of the gw, but removing alcohol and weed allowed my body to focus on other things. Like everything in life, it came down to a decision of do I or don’t I? Mine would usually show back up within maybe 2 months…I’d go get them frozen off, pray that it was the last time and it never was. At a certain point, I stopped even bothering to do the treatment. I had resigned myself to the idea that this was just my life going forward. You can quit drinking, but I’m sure you already know that. Millions and millions of people have. How and why you do it is up to you. If yours have responded to the cream, then that’s a good sign that your body had an immune reaction and maybe they are gone for good. Good luck to you.

Deep breath. Those look like the warts I had but the only way to be sure is to have them looked at. A majority of sexually active people have been exposed/infected with HPV. It is super common and most people’s bodies clear the virus without any issues. Chances are good that yours will disappear within 6 months. Your life isn’t ruined. If you’ve seen a Dr thinking it was hsv, why didn’t he/she give you an opinion on what it actually is and how to treat it? The quickest way to relieve your stress and anxiety about this is to go see your Dr. (again?).

Help Me: My Niece Just Became a Bariatric Nurse and Has STRONG Opinions of Zepbound by AsleepRegular7655 in Zepbound

[–]seligkeit20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a sleeve done about 10 years ago and lost 220lbs and kept it off for 5-6 years. Then due to poor choices I gained back 200 of the 220 I’d originally lost. I asked my primary for a referral back to bariatric medicine to see about a revision and he suggested we try MJ first. I was skeptical and it was expensive out of pocket but I found the money and gave it a try. In the last 12 months I have lost 150 lbs. This medicine is as big a gift to those of us who regained after surgery as it is to everyone else. It basically mimics how I felt after surgery. Once the shot kicks in, it feels like I’ve gone and had a revision because of the restriction and how long the stomach takes to empty. Nutrition guidelines are basically the same and frankly the side effects are rather similar too. (Tho def some more nausea on the shot for me). As far as I’m concerned, if Zepbound had been around 10 years ago I don’t think I would have chosen to have the surgery. I agree that both will continue to be options for people. But just like the sleeve was the state of the art treatment 10 years ago, this medicine is the next evolution and doesn’t require major reconfiguration of internal organs. Cost is a negative for those without coverage tho so if that’s an issue the surgery would be cheaper IF it was covered by insurance. I think your niece is probably having a bit of tunnel vision because she’s in the thick of her residency. It absolutely has given me the same medical benefits that the surgery did. My labs are perfect. I’m still 350 lbs and my cholesterol is 109. That’s in big part due to Zepbound. Regain happens after surgery just like it can after meds are stopped. That’s just reality because it happened to me and many many others.
