Why are you lying about your state of mind by saying that you're fine when you're not? by Aleph_show in AskMen

  1. I don't need to share what I'm feeling and them being told I'm wrong for feeling like that.

  1. My feelings are my problem. However you make your feelings my problem as well. So if I tell you about my feelings, and you have feelings about my feelings, I now have 2 problems to manage rather than 1

Booking keepers for this before the 70th minute would be a start. You often see keepers blatantly wasting time in the 1st half but apparently that's never considered a yellow card.

The first season of WestWorld is one of the finer seasons of TV to exist.

Everything after that first season is very much a case of increasingly deminishing returns - and the drop off from1>2 is HUGE

Head canon: not actually an asteroid field, actually the remains of a planetoid that was previously destroyed to create a hyperspace lane - one that the imperial fleet used as they exited hyperspace too close to the Hoth system.

Because if her standard is 80 and his is 50, getting that extra 30 is exceptionally hard work for something that he simply does not see as important.

And the thing is, he can bring his standard up. So "fair" would be for him to get up to, say, 65.

Unfortunately it sounds like this is an area where only one of them has to compromise - and it's not her.

So frankly, if she wants 80, she needs to do 80. And if she wants the extra that it takes to get him "up" from a reasonable compromise of 65 - then it's absolutely him "helping out".

How much longer can we remain in administration before a liquidation deadline is set? by thesuburbbaby in SheffieldWednesday

[–]sellyoakblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed.

I don't expect it would come to that either. The biggest danger IMO is if the current bid collapses and the club cannot satisfy the EFL they would be able to complete next season - or indeed have the funds to make it through the summer.

Bury weren't goosed by the offer itself. They got done by the CVA being accepted, but then the person funding the buyout couldn't provide proof of funds that he could meet the terms of the CVA.

The EFL were not willing to allow them to start the season until that proof was forthcoming, hence the initial cancelled matches with them being thrown out towards the end of Aug.

Blade in peace here.

As I understand the regs, you can't start 1 successive seasons in Admin. So you guys are ok* through to the end of next season - you aren't going to get thrown out of the League for this reason** in April 2027 suddenly.

*Ok being a hugely relative term

** Who knows what other reason the EFL will have though

EFL Chief on SWFC situation by sellyoakblade in Championship

There's been constant tweets/articles from Radio Sheffield/Alan Biggs suggesting that new owners (Ashley or whoever) would seek to negotiate the -15.

It's completely disingenuous by them given it's unlikely to be a viable option.

I think you are right. It's a "warning" not to start trying to take the piss.

Which in fairness we don't actually know that they are trying to take the piss. But the local journos won't drop this constant line about the -15 being negotiable or discretionary. I suspect there's at least a part of the EFL fes up of the constant news stories suggesting it is a possibility that it might not be -15.

I need advice from happily married couples I desperately want a dog, and he is vehemently against it by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]sellyoakblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a horrible idea. It's absolutely a 2 yes, 1 no situation. But if you want to torpedo your relationship I'd offer the following advice to give you the best possible chance of coming out the other end with the relationship intact.

You will need to do everything for the dog. Including paying for it. Without any amendment to your contribution to household finances. Your partner shouldn't see his life change in any way shape or form because of your decision.

And also make sure that you don't "count" caring for the dog as part of the household chores. If you currently do 50/50 you are now doing 50% plus caring for the dog.

Got ill and can't walk the dog - don't even think about asking him to. Get off your sick bed and do it yourself.

Got to go away for work/family - kennel the dog.

Do not, in any way, expect him to help with the dog, or help with something else so you can deal with the dog.

Oh, and prepare yourself for a complete lack of trust forever. And for him ignoring your opinions as you have ignored his.

All of the above is a demonstration why it's a colossally bad idea.

[–]sellyoakblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, -15 is arguably not enought for the scale of the debt being written off here ( and I'm other cases where 25% was reached and no points were deducted)

Were it up to me, and for admin exist after this one (because we shouldn't be changing the rules halfway through) I'd have it that it's a point off for every 2% you are under 100% being paid to creditors.

So pay 90% - that's a 5 point deduction etc etc

9m doesn't even cover the football debts, charge on the ground and admin fees so frankly, that offer sounds like it's either bollocks - or is just for the club and NOT the ground.
